llcooldave (309), San Antonio, Texas, USA Aug 23, 2009 Nice amber copper color. Malty sweet aroma with toffee notes. Flavor is very similar to the aroma with the added medicinal hops aftertaste. Overall, this is smooth and drinkable with enough complexity to make it interesting. Cletus (5001), Connecticut, USA Aug 2, 2009 Pours amber with a thin white head. Smells of citrus, earthy, caramel. Tastes fruity and grassy with some earthy undertones and a grassy finish. dirt55 (150), Washington, USA Jul 27, 2009 bottled, pours light amber with almost no head, no fizz when opening bottle, very light malt aroma with faint citrus smell, full malt up front on taste with nice floral hop in the end with a clean finish, lacking carbonation, would like to give another chance on bottle sometime or on tap SamGamgee (1396), Santa Cruz (La Selva), California, USA Jul 25, 2009 22oz bottle. Hazy amber with a lasting medium white head. Aroma of caramel, toasted grain, fruity yeastiness, melon, and a light touch of citrus. Malty flavor with some toastiness and a bitter finish with some citrus. Fruity and lightly yeasty. medium bodied with medium carbonation. Decent balance but a bit bland. JohnnyJ (1282), Carlsbad, California, USA Jul 15, 2009 Not a good pale ale. Amber pour, thin white head. Caramel malt, slight nuts, citrus, floral hops, and this bad metallic taste. Pretty bland. Vertical Bacon Strips (874), Edmonton, Alberta, Canada Jun 26, 2009 Poured out a nice orange / red hazy brew with lots of very very fine particles, minimal carbonation, tan crown with good retention and excellent sticky and ropy lacing. The aroma is odd but interesting. A decent twist on the American PA. Fresh, faint grapefruit, orange, some spice, floral with soft malts. A sugary smell comes out when warmer. The taste comes across watery and needs more flavour. Tangy, spicy hops, ok malts. A poor representation of the style - not sure if they were going for something something different or if they just blew it. Watery, light bodied, medium spicy bitter finish with a good long, lingering aftertaste. Needs more carbonation. Totally drinkable. Taverner (825), San Ramon, California, USA Jun 24, 2009 Aroma is a stalish malt flavor. Pours alber with tan head. Tastes more like an Amber Ale than an APA. Sweet, but ends dry. Simple, not complex. scrizzz (1248), kirkland, Washington, USA Jun 18, 2009 Clear copper, small white head. Jasmine aroma, little caramel too. Medium-full body, malt-forward. Finally a PNW pale that isn’t hoppy. Not to say I don’t like that. Not too much caramel or body and it’s not supposed to. Good times.
