Pours an amber colour with a medium creamy off white head. Aroma of toasty malt and orange zest. Sweet malt flavour backed up by a nice orange-citrus hop finish.

Toasted malts and orange citrus hop character blend well in the nose with a pleasant underlying sweetness. Clear, light copper-amber coloured body is topped by a low but lasting white head that sticks to the sides of the glass. Caramel sweetness up front with some light citrus hop character and medium bitterness in the mouth with toasted malt character appearing in the aftertaste. Medium body is quite dry with moderate carbonation. Sampled in Mar-07. Tulip glass. Cellar temperature. Bottle (Liberty at Point Grey, Mar-07).

Draft at the brewpub. Very lightly sweet and toasty caramel aroma, some metallic and fruity hop in the background, sweetness is pretty gentle, though, mostly toasted malts come through. Some honey appears here as it warms. Clear light amber color with a lasting, fine eggshell head and very nice lacing. Flavor is malty and fruity as well, drying and lightly astringent, with more light caramel, nuttiness and some faintly citric hop. Light, effervescent mouthfeel, body is light-medium. Better than some Amber-style Pales due to the balance, which factors in the hops somewhat.

Picked up single 12-oz bottle from Bottleworks in Seattle, Washington. Pours a semi-clear coppery amber brew with a fast dissolving white head that leaves behind a fine film and ring. Aroma of roasted caramel malt, a touch of sour apple, flowery hops and some hazelnuts. Taste is medium bodied, very light carbonation with a nice flavor of caramel malt, a touch of light fruit and mild flowery hops. Finish is slightly bitter at first and then a lingering apple bread aftertaste.

Bottle... Poured a foggy rust color with a thin head that faded really quick. It looked like I was drinking juice or iced tea. Aroma of red meat and brown sugary malt. Really mild on hops in the flavor, almond and hazelnuts, and malt. Just slightly under-par.

Bottle from jake65 - thanks, Jake! Big-time bready, earthy, PNW aroma. Amber body edging toward copper, with a short, lacing beige head. Nice crisp mouthfeel, medium body. Taste is full of earthy, really dirty hops, dry and woody with a touch of nuts and biscuit. A good, straightforward session for those whole like to bump and grind, but I’m not sure I could repeat this without food to match.

Draft at the brewpub. Poured a clear copper color. Head was thin and off white. There was a tiny bit of lace on the glass at the end. Smelled and tasted of spicy malt. Not very complex. Mouth feel was a bit thin.
