Toasted malts and orange citrus hop character blend well in the nose with a pleasant underlying sweetness. Clear, light copper-amber coloured body is topped by a low but lasting white head that sticks to the sides of the glass. Caramel sweetness up front with some light citrus hop character and medium bitterness in the mouth with toasted malt character appearing in the aftertaste. Medium body is quite dry with moderate carbonation. Sampled in Mar-07. Tulip glass. Cellar temperature. Bottle (Liberty at Point Grey, Mar-07).

Picked up single 12-oz bottle from Bottleworks in Seattle, Washington. Pours a semi-clear coppery amber brew with a fast dissolving white head that leaves behind a fine film and ring. Aroma of roasted caramel malt, a touch of sour apple, flowery hops and some hazelnuts. Taste is medium bodied, very light carbonation with a nice flavor of caramel malt, a touch of light fruit and mild flowery hops. Finish is slightly bitter at first and then a lingering apple bread aftertaste.

Sampled on 3/2/2009. This American Pale Ale pours a medium amber brown color from a 22oz bottle. Medium sized white foamy head, decent retention and nice lacing. The aroma is caramel, fruity and sweet, touch of orange. A medium bodied American Pale Ale. The malts are fruity and sweet, caramel and orange. The hops are citrusy and floral. A little on the sweet side, but there are enough hops to balance it out. Nice carbonation. Somewhat more in the English style Pale Ale. Kind of like this one, would make a good session beer. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is crisp and clean with just a touch of a hop bite. The aftertaste is slightly bitter.

This draft brew from the brewery poured a small sized head of foamy finely sized white colored bubbles that were long lasting and left behind a transparent uncarbonated brown colored body. The mild aroma was malty. The mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish. The nice flavor contained notes of mild hops hops and nutty. A decent one but not one that I would consider buying again. Need caramel in the flavor.

Bottle. Dark orange with just a hint of a head. This drinks better than their IPA, me thinks. Full malt body with a tight and tart fruity bite. Very, very nice tight beer. (#3308, 1/21/2008)

(Draught) Sampled at the brewpub on October 17, 2007. Decent hops in the nose. Dark orange body with a thin, foamy head. Light and refreshing yet hoppy enough to out-do its IPA older-brother...

Draft at Pike Pub & Brewery, Seattle, WA. Ivory head, excellent lacing, transparent, very little carbonation observed, and an orange hue. Nose was floral hops and some citrus. Flavor was sweet, some caramel, citrus hops, and lightly bitter. Medium body. Very light overall for an APA. Not bad, just so-so.
