3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Rich, warm red-orange color with rocky lace cover. Fuzzy citrus nose, grapefruit, perhaps some simcoe and cattiness and spicy pellet hop resin. Juicy citrus body with bursts of grapefruit and a spicy, grassy and forest hoppyness. To me, this seems more a part of the APA/IPA family than a saison, or rather an APA with a slight twist.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Pours a cloudy gold with with medium white head. Aroma is a bit funky, but not in a bad way, with apple, champagne, and straw. Flavor is a little sour, but with a bit of bitterness too. Not bad, but not great.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle from Safeway in Port Angeles. Nose has lots of hops...DIPA-like...for a saison??? Idk, good bubbles, but a rough mouthfeel. I'm still hung up on being disappointed in the saison, err, IPA I bought. Ok beer.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
22 oz bomber courtesy of bvc. The pour is a light haze orange golden, with a smallish white head. The aroma is strong citrus fruity herbal, floral, with phenolic yeast. Behind that is wheat grain, and a general grassiness. The taste is hay grass up front, followed by the citrus fruit herbal, with wheat towards the finish, and a touch of fruit in the back. A bunch going on in the taste. The palate is medium bodied, a low level of carbonation, and lingering grain yeast finish. As the beer warms, the after taste reveals just a hint of pepper. Thanks for sending this my way Brandon.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bomber. Pours hazy copper with a large cream-colored head with great retention; leaves decorative lacework. Aroma is hoppy for a saison--woodsy, piney, floral, perfumey hops. Taste is more in line with the category. Along with the prominent aforementioned hops, Belgian yeast and an earthiness are noticeable. It starts out lightly sweet before becoming quite bitter. Mouthfeel is creamy. Pretty good.

Aroma of citrus, yeast and spices. Medium body with flavors of lemon zest, yeast and touches of malt. The finish is sweet with a short yeast aftertaste. Decent overall.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Amber bodied with a tall, thick, frothy white head. Aroma is floral and citrus hops, citrus fruit, hop oils and dusty yeast. Taste is floral hops, citrus fruit, hop resins, dusty yeast, straw and earthy hops. Body is medium with a lighter than expected carbonation. It’s more on the soft and creamy side. Lingering hop bitterness throughout. Ends with more floral hops, earthy notes, strong citrus, lighter tropical fruit notes, toasted malt, straw and dusty yeast.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bomber from Total Wine, Durham. Nice cloudy gold pour, with medium carbonation and fairly sticky retention. The name gives a more or less accurate summation of what the beer’s about: a fairly basic, if competent, yeasty saison backed up by a fuckload of hops. Grassy as hell, ripe and at times aggressive. Occasional citrus notes peek through but it’s going in one direction and you’re in the way.
