Editors Note: in 2012 released as Psace Needle Golden Anniversary IPA.

It was 1962 and the world came to Seattle for the World’s Fair and its futuristic symbol, the Space Needle. The beer served at the ‘62 World’s Fair? Likely nothing at all like this west coast style IPA, generously brewed with five varieties of Yakima Valley aroma and flavoring hops. We then dry hop it with whole-cone Columbus, Summit and Centennial hops, which impart a floral aroma that has catapulted this beer to one of Pike Brewing customer’s favorite IPA’s.
MALT VARIETIES: Munich, Cara-Pils, Malted Wheat
HOP VARIETIES: Chinook, Cascade, Centennial, Columbus, Summit

Bottle in Florida. Smells like house cleaner. Tastes ok, kinda boring ipa. First taste was the best but grew old quick.

Sampler at brewpub. Dark golden color, sticky lacing. Aroma has a good tropical fruit hop character but also a hint of vegetal character. Flavor is a dusty malt character. Hops die down a lot and the vegetal character is more prevalent. Meh.

Golden pour as stated by the name. Has a nice head of white with Petri dish type lacings. A nice clean hop bite that lingers after the light maltiness dissipates. Aroma is subtle, but floral with a faint hint of citrus. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On draft at the brewpub in Seattle. Clear golden pour, with a fizzy white head. Grapefruit, bitter citrus rind, caramel, and stale grain. Ok.

"Dear god what is this abomination. A well meaning friend brought this back (recently mind you) from the space needle gift shop, so it was even marked up 50%. Who wants to friggin age iPas anyway?! At 6.5/58, this just didn’t stand up, and in top of that, practically pours foam. So looks crappy, smells like stale hops and biscuit mLt mixed with cardboard, feel is ridiculously over carbonated and not much else, and the taste was drain pour worthy. For 9.99."

Cloudy yellow with a huge white head. Aroma is grapefruit hops. Flavor is grapefruit hops as well, very acidic. Light malt to balance a little. Finishes a bit bittersweet and sharp. Wife: 3.5
