Snappy and tasty IPA. Lots of orange sweetness, tangerine tartness and grapefruit bitterness. With a hint of lemon as well. Dough and crackers in the malt, with a slight bread crust toastiness. Only a mild caramel sweetness. Definitely on the dry side. Healthy bitterness, but balanced. Resinous, bitter rind lingers on the tongue.

Pours a cloudy golden orange with a tiny white head. Aroma of bitter citrus hops, resin, with a light caramel backing. Flavour as expected - virtually the same. Medium bodied, bitter and refreshing. Nice.

Bottle... Poured hazy, golden/orange with an off-white head. Well, I’m thinking this was an older bottle. Dry and stale with some oxidation in there. Bitter and hardly any balance with some grapefruit too. This hit the drain.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Dagan’s place. Thanks Dagan. Hazy orange. Aroma of floral and citric hops, a bit stale. Rather dry flavor with light malty sweetness and nice grapefruity bitter hops. Medium-bodied. Nice but a bit old.

Bottle sample. Murky gold color, small white head. Resiny hops, citrus peels, and pines, though not super fresh. Hi bitterness, light malt flavor, marmalade. Dry, long bitter finish. OK beer.

Draft - Sweet but mellow malts with earthy hops. A bit of spice and caramel on the nose as well. Cloudy orange with a bubbly head. Flowery hop forward with a quick bitterness. Spicy with a bit of resin finish.

A nice IPA, better than the regular IPA at the pub. Pours amber with a small head. Lots of pine and citrus in the aroma. The flavor has a sweet start but the hops take over. Very dry and peppery finish.

Draft at the brewpub in Seattle. Pours a dark golden orange color with dark straw colored edges and a 1.5 finger white head that slowly settles into a lasting cap.  The glass is left coated with soapy lacing. Earthy hop aroma with lots of grassy pine countered by citrus and tropical fruit notes.  Hints of pineapple, grapefruit and lemon peel counter the earthiness nicely along with subtle biscuity pale malts.  Medium bodied with a blast of bitter, sticky hops that linger over the sweeter notes into a bitter dry finish.   Really dank and earthy with lots of grassy, earthy pine and soil.  This is countered by tropical fruit and citrus sweetness as well as some biscuit and caramel malt. Lingering bone dry finish.

Happy Ipa day! Pours a hazy golden brown with a a nice off white head with great lacing. Smells of Pine, grapfriut and caramel. Tastes like all the smells I mentioned above plus vanilla. Mouthfeel is medium and creamy and a dry finish. Overall this is very balanced for an Ipa and the best I’ve had from Pike Brewing so far.
