Bottle at Chriso tasting (from the Space Needle gift shop, Seattle - be warned it was $2 cheaper downtown, not to my surprise but I didn’t want to risk not getting hold of one!) 18/11/12. Hazed light amber with a thin off white head that soon clears to the edge. Nose is caramel malts, rip mango, orange, grapefruit and a touch of wood. Tastes comprises caramel malts, pine, bitter tropical fruits, light tea bag flavour. Medium bodied with soft carbonation leading to a bitter finish.

Bottle at Chriso tasting, London. Pours hazy gold with a creamy, white head. Nose of dry pine and toasty bread. Medium sweet flavor with more dried pine, dried leaves - it’s pretty dry in general. Light to medium bodied with fine carbonation. Dry finish, lightly astringent with pine, grass and faint orange rind. So so.

AWISLguy (1423) - Wisconsin, USA - NOV 14, 2012
On tap at the brewpub. Pours orange with an off white head. Great lacing. Aroma has citrus and pine, and more citrus and pine. Taste is of bitter citrus (orange, lemon, grapefruit) and fresh fruit with pine needles. A bit of malt presence - subtly sweet. It becomes progressively more and more bitter throughout the glass. For a hophead, at least one notch better than their standard ipa.

manuchampions (1238) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - OCT 8, 2012
22oz bottle. Pours a clear orange hued honey gold with a large bubbled cap of tan head which retains nicely. Aroma is pungent with citrus hops, marmalade and a hint of bready malt. Taste is restrained citrus hops that succumb to a fresh orange flavour. Malt is subtle but in decent balance. Some bread and yeast in there. Finish is lingering bitterness. All in all a lovely and fresh IPA that is subtle but flavourful. Nice.
