Bottle shared with Hogtown Harry, Garthicus, and Blankboy, courtesy of Harry. Sweet aroma, some alcohol. Reddish brown, small just off white head. Strong sweet taste, spicy, almost nutty. Short finish. Actually a quick taste - when it is there it is pretty darn good but it starts and finishes really quickly. Straightforward kicked up strong brown ale that I enjoyed.

Thanks to HogTownHarry: Ruby red, dirty egg shell colour head, Aroma: Syrupy, toffee, maple syrup. Flavour: Bitter, sweet, maple, barley flavour, not bad at all!

Bottle (12oz). Shared with blankboy, garthicus and tupalev, my bottle via trade with mgermani. Muddy brick-red pour, minimal beige head. Deeply sweet aroma, nearly a barleywine, alcohol and dry resin hops. Taste - very fruity, bitter, thick and boozy (7.5%? no way!) - a little lactic and watery. Decent, but a not-quite barleywine, sort of watered down and wan.

Very dark hazy copper with a light tan head. Earthy caramel with a decent amount of hops backing things up.

Sample at the brewpub. Pours a dark brown color with a medium thin and foamy beige head that diminishes steadily. Stringy lacing. Light grassy hops and malt in the nose. Medium body with flavors of malt, yeast and hops. Some fruity flavors are present as well. The finish is sweet caramel and malt at first with a short light hoppy aftertaste. Decent overall.

Pours a caramel brown color, with a medium foamy light brown head. Smells of caramel malt, a little butterscotch, and dark fruits all blended together. The flavor was much the same. The dark fruits really take the lead in the taste as it was fruitier than it smelled. Nothing overly complex or interesting, but pretty solid drinkiing brew. Finish was a little sweet, with mild bitterness. Decent.

Aroma is caramel, butterscotch and butter/rum lifesavers, deep copper, slightly auburn at the sides. Taste is milder caramel and butterscotch than the nose promised. Light bodied for the style and strength, very quaffable. Very nice treat. Thank You tiggmtl and mds.

yeasty coffee aroma, muddy sludgy appearance. not much of a head, save for a thin veil until i agitated the yeast on the bottom and then the complete creamy goodness comes out. called an approach to a brown, but tastes like an abbey dubbel. swirl between sweet malt, sour base, and dusty yeast with the molasses sweetness peaking in the finish before finally yielding to a soft leafy alpha hop bitterness.
