Feb 15, 2008 Dark brown in colour, thin white coloured head, very light lacing. The aroma was of gingerbread, light alcohol, caramel, piney hops. The flavour is a bit hoppy, some caramel malt sweetness, raisins and alcohol. Lightly hoppy mouthfeel, medium body, medium carbonation. Finishes bitter, mildly sweet. A bit hoppy, very light roast but quite boring.

Feb 14, 2008 Ruby red with a small tan head. Mild, nutty, grainy malt smell. Medium /full body and smooth. Taste is nutty bready yeasty and lightly sweet with a subtle herbal hop taste to finish. nice. 12307

Feb 12, 2008 Growler from Peaks. Dark brown with a thin light tan head. Aroma is malty, with caramel, light coffee, and toffee. Taste is caramel, light alcohol, light smoke. I like it.

Feb 1, 2008 Draft at Pike, Seattle, WA. Tan head that was mostly lasting with very nice lacing, cloudy, no carbonation was observed, and a brown orange hue. Nose was smoke notes, some roastiness, sweet, malty, and fruity. Flavor was sweet, semi-rich, roasty, smokey, and raisins. ABV was noticeable, but tame. Mouthfeel was smooth. Medium body. Not big and bold for the style which was rather unusual. Worth a try.

[1098B-20080216] Tap @ Pike brewpub (Seattle, WA). Sweet yeasty fruit aroma. Clear, dark dark brown red body with a medium-lasting off-white head. Watery alcohol malt flavour has a bit of smokily toasted molasses. Full body. Average, not coherent. (5/3/6/3/12) 2.9

Jan 2, 2008 Bottle wife got me for Christmas. Some smoke, some roast, Sweet fruits for aroma complexing. Dark brown brew held to light a deep red. Decent head with halo retention. Flavor is as odd as the aroma. A sweet fruit plum, raisin is there, a roasty flavor as well. This for me is one of those complex brews to write about but it was good.
