| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 1, 2007 Pours with little to no head. However, the aromas make up for it: roasted malts smell clean and pure. Same with the body, which has a nice character. Smooth palate and quaffable. Reid (1089), Salem, Oregon, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 11, 2007 Mahogany coloured ale, with a small,yet persistant, creamy tan head. Nice.
Nice malty aroma, milky chocolate comes to mind.
Very nice taste all sweet ,malty good ness,, caramel, toasty somewhat, milk chocolate candy sugar.
Ok on the palate, avoids being cloying for one so malty.
Overall a very nice beer that malt lovers will enjoy, though hop-heads may find boring.
I dont see how this is an ASA..if it had to be in a "catch-all" better ESA. jcwattsrugger (5258), Florida and, New Jersey, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 11, 2007 on tap-pours a light tan head that laces and dark copper color. Aroma is very faint sweet. Taste is medium malt-caramel, secondary sugar, yeast, faint spice. A very tame, malty interpretation of the style(Oh, it’s not a double/Dubbel, it’s an American Strong Ale that’s very tame). | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 9, 2007 Draft at the brewpub. Brown sugar in the aroma, some blueberry, bubblegum and faint, leafy tobacco as well. Clear light-medium brown color, head is fine and subsiding. Flavor is mostly sweet and malty, indeed like a "Double Brown" in a way but lacking largely in bitterness as the sweet brown malt dominates utterly. Some cocoa, caramel and toffee, more leafy tobacco notes, faintly roasty with a touch of hazelnut towards the finish. Mouthfeel is smooth and low in effervescence, body is medium-full. 7.5% and certainly feels it. Finish is long and sees a bit of fruitiness creep in late. Interesting stuff, in its way. argo0 (6891), Washington DC, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 18, 2007 Received a 22-oz bomber from Liquid Solutions in Oregon (two week delivery). Pours a semi-hazy burnt amber brew with a decent off-white head that has good retention and lacing. Aroma of roasted caramel malt, some flowery hops, a touch of toffee and tobacco. Taste is medium bodied, lightly carbonated with a light caramel malt, tiffee and some sugary berries. Finish is smooth, creamy with a brown-ale like character. Nice toffee aftertaste in the finish too. JK (2949), Richfield, Minnesota, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 15, 2007 A good beer but kind of boring. Simple malt and light hop aroma. Flavor has lightly roasted grain and very light hops, but the malt is the dominant character in this beer. Brown with an average palate.
