05.11.2008. On Tap at the brewpub. The Pike Brewing Co, Seattle, Wa. The colour is dark brown. Aroma is malty and I would say it is difficult to taste the coriander or Candy sugar. Complex nice beer

What the hell is a double ale? Doesn’t taste like a dubbel? Oh welll.......Sorta fruity smelling and tasting. Ok but not very interesting. One and done.

Brown color, thin creamy head. It has caramel and hop aroma, quite perfumy, a bit fruity. The mouthfeel is quite round, but the body not too strong, with a good caramel flavor, turning into chocolate, and an average bitterness, but the hop quality are not impressive. Also the final is not very long, yet quite balanced with the caramel; at 25 IBU, difficult to expect more. Quite solid, no thrills.

Pours a very dark red, small head that dissapates fairly quickly. Smells like burnt sugar. Tastes like molassas and a touch of spice. Solid offering, not knocking my socks off.
