A nice malt aroma, a little sugary. This seems like a belgian dubbel with the candy sugar. Sweet, not too heavy. This may be their best that I’ve had.

Beer pours a dark chocolate cloudy brown, good sized tan colored with excellent retention and curtains of sticky lacing where left behind with every sip, dam fine looking beer. Aroma was a touch mild for my liking but it was still very pleasant, sweet rich malts that seemed to be a little on the chalky side combined with just a touch of hops. I can’t get over this taste it is truly awesome tons of sweet rich dark malts with a hint of spice and earth, chocolate and coffee are being found in the finish but they are in the back ground of the flavor. The tasty malts dominate this brew so very good and tasty I want more. Why oh why does this only come in these small 650ml bottles I need more. This was so good highly recommend I will be picking a few more of theses up. Review done while watching Grizzly Man ( what a fawking tool, I like what he was trying to do and accomplish, but come on those things aren’t pets it was only a matter of time before you where killed) good movie.

I had this beer last month when I made a trip to Seattle and I was greatly pleased to find a dark beer that I enjoyed almost as much as Lazy Magnolia’s Southern Pecan. The Tandem is very rich and full of flavor right down to the last drop.

This poured from a 650 ml bottle a rich ruby brown. It was topped with a lasting tan creamy head that left nice lacing as it gradually settled. It is slightly sweet up front with lots of caramel then joined by some darker malts and hints of alcohol. Flavor was malts, citrus hops, and a hint of coffee. Finish is good, and has just a touch of bitterness. This ale is smooth drinking, and quite enjoyable.

Deep mahogany with a thick tan cap that clings to the glass nicely. Very chocolatey aroma with some earthy woodiness that hints at the hops lying in wait. Sweet and rich with chocolate and caramel malts, a little buttery and nutty (macadamia?). Surprising hop character brings a resinous bitterness to the finish that os very enjoyable. The more you spend time with this, the more you discover-- there is a faint espresso quality to be found in here too. Big and beguiling, this could be considered the love-child of a porter, a barley wine, and a brown ale. Fantastic!

Dark amber colour. Hazy. Fairly chocolatey, lightly toasty aroma. Full flavour with rich toast and chocolate in the complex malty body. Slight bitterness underpins it perfectly. Big body. Unique, very flavourful, a pint to come back to more than once.
