old rating 7/3/8/4/16 - 3.8 (bottle). on tap at the pike pub in seattle. pour is dark brown with a tint of red, with a very thin beige head. smell is roasted malts, brown sugar, nutty, touch of sweet cocoa. taste is smooth, creamy, chocolate, toasted nuts, leaves the mouth a little dry, ends with a bitter kick.

yeasty coffee aroma, muddy sludgy appearance. not much of a head, save for a thin veil until i agitated the yeast on the bottom and then the complete creamy goodness comes out. called an approach to a brown, but tastes like an abbey dubbel. swirl between sweet malt, sour base, and dusty yeast with the molasses sweetness peaking in the finish before finally yielding to a soft leafy alpha hop bitterness.

Bottle. Slight cloudy head. Smells of alcohol, spruce and malt. Rich amber color. Heavily sour with hints of vinegar on the palate. Fizzy with long finish and bitter aftertaste.Very distinct.

Pours with little to no head. However, the aromas make up for it: roasted malts smell clean and pure. Same with the body, which has a nice character. Smooth palate and quaffable.

22 oz bottle, sweet aroma reminiscent of over ripe fruit, pours a very hazy brown with a marginal white head, flavor of coffee and caramel in a mellow combination, very smooth on the palate with good drinkability. Not bad at all.

Mahogany with a one finger light tan head. Good amount of lacings. Aroma is caramel and bready. Taste is caramel malt with a nice earthy bitter hop flavor. Mouthfeel is fine with medium carbonation. A bit of spice in the finish. Overall a decent brown with plenty of punch. A little on the sweet side for multiple beers.

Appearance: Coco-Cola brown with a topping of sparkly bubbles. Aroma: Clove, bubble gum and spice. Lots of Belgian yeast. Taste: Spice and cloves, hops and dark fruit. Mouthfeel: Thinner than you would think. Overall: A tasty, intriguing hoppy version of a classic dubbel.
