radiomgb (1720), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada Feb 15, 2008 Dark brown in colour, thin white coloured head, very light lacing. The aroma was of gingerbread, light alcohol, caramel, piney hops. The flavour is a bit hoppy, some caramel malt sweetness, raisins and alcohol. Lightly hoppy mouthfeel, medium body, medium carbonation. Finishes bitter, mildly sweet. A bit hoppy, very light roast but quite boring.

roder_60 (840), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 27, 2008 Pours dark brown with fraothy tan head. Aroma is nutty and molases. Flavor rather plain, sweet caramel, but of alcohol undertone, but not much character. Nice attempt. anders37 (2515), Malmö, Sweden Jul 17, 2008 Draught @ the brewpub. Pours a dark amber color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty caramel aroma with some hoppy hints. Has a sweetish malty caramel aroma with some hoppy hints. Dry malty finish with some hints of hops and caramel. drfabulous (670), Columbia, Missouri, USA Jul 15, 2008 Brought back in a suitcase from Seattle. While I didn’t enjoy sitting in the brewpub, this ale is not bad from the bottle. Not intense like other American Strongs, but ok malts over all. Dark. Decent taste. carruthm (347), Seattle, Washington, USA Jul 8, 2008 Updated: Jul 21, 2008dark malts is right, burnt amber color with white and dark sugar malts aroma. slightly bitter flavor and mild ABV for a strong ale. pinkzambia (867), Boise, Idaho, USA Jun 18, 2008 Tap Reddish brown color with a small off-white head. Sweet aromas of brown sugar and malts. Sweet flavors accompany this as well as a slight bitter flavor akin to an ESB. Pretty mild for an American Strong Ale. Not bad though - it’s not as sweet as you would expect from the aroma.
