’05-’06 bottle. Pours to a black body with a foamy tan head. Chocolate, grahm cracker and some prune in the aroma. Nice flavor! Milky coffee is a foundation to cherry and light roast. Above-average viscosity in the mouthfeel. Finishes with tart acidity over chocolate grahm cracker. Well done!

Comes out of the bottle a rich, oily, opaque sable with a thick and fairly persistent fine-bubbled tan mead. Aroma is rich and smoky with firm tones of quality coffee and brown sugar - most inviting. Flavor is even better than the aroma - richly of roast fine coffee, unsweet chocolate and molasses, the flavors I like best in a stout. It is only slightly sweet and has a touch of bitterness. Texture is thick, smooth, oily and tingly. This is one lip-smacking stout, worth seeking!

UPDATED: NOV 28, 2004 Bottle Pours a black with a modest dark tan head that settles into thick sticky lacing. Aroma is stron Molassas, nutty, coffee and bittersweet chocolate. Bittersmokey molassas is at the front, with a charcoal aftertaste that is quite bitter. Less sweet than most of its type. Feel is moderatley thick and very smooth. Nice but the harsh bitter trailer puts me off a bit.

A nice rich stout. Black with a dark brown creamy head. Nice chocolate malts with hints of smoke and coffee. Flavour is full, rich creamy, with nice cocoa flavouring. Ends nice and dry. A nice stout.

Blackish-brown color with a really nice looking tan head. Aroma is a creamy mix of coffee, well-roasted malts, a bit of chocolate, and smoke. Taste is a great mix of dark malts, peat, coffee, chocolate. Wonderful - I’ll put this up against any Dry or Regular Stout. If only this one was at my local Irish pub in place of Guinness.............

Dark pour with a brownish foam. The aroma had notes of chocolate and coffee bean. The flavor was sort of dry but bitter notes came through in very end. It was good but not super great.
