4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Ughsmash (5631) - Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA - MAY 11, 2008
Bomber. Poured healthy deeper brown with a creamy cap of short tan head. The aroma was just what I needed.. deep coffee, anise, and caramel maltage with a sweet uptake on the back that carried fresh pine.. light smoke accent.. just a wonderful blend of components. The flavor picked up sweeter, deeply-roasted coffee at the core surrounded by dry, smoky pine needle bitterness.. the hops and coffee bitterness made a stronger impression toward and through the finish.. tasty and well-balanced. Dry and medium-bodied with rising bitterness as the drink progressed.. a little too sharp toward the back.. all in all quite excellent!

22-oz. bottle via trade with Larry Pitonka. Pours opaque with an average creamy dark brown head, somewhat diminishing, good lacing. Aroma is average malt (molasses, chocolate), heavy hops (perfume, pine), average yeast (leather) with notes of smoke. Full bodied, creamy texture, soft carbonation and a chalky finish. Average duration, light sweetness, moderate acidity and bitterness; heavy roasted malt flavor.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20 BückDich (5468) - McCall, Idaho, USA - JUN 1, 2003
Semi-sweet aroma with strong hints of coffee and smoke. A solid appearance of a well rounded stout. Flavor is delicious with this beer, it's subtle and creamy like an oatmeal stout but has a little bite like an imperial stout, the best of both worlds! Very dry on the palate, overall a solid drinking stout, I could have 10 more of these!
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 jerc (5446) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 12, 2010
2010-07-05. Black body with a good sized brown head, light lace. 4+ Pleasant roasty aroma, dry dusty character and light coffee and cocoa. 7+ Flavour is much more dry than expected, bitter roast has notes of very dark cocoa - like a 100% cocoa chocolate bar. Smooth palate is nice but still very light for a stout in my opinion. Good. On tap at Pike Place brewpub, Seattle
