22oz bottle from Larry Pitonka/5000. Pour was dark black with a nice tan head, good retention, continous covering. The lacing was ok. The aroma was milk chocolate. The flavor was milk chocolate, lactic notes, light chalky bitter notes. The mouthfeel was moderate body moderate dryness. Thanks, Andre, I enjoyed this one, very nicely balanced, not overly hoppy, not sickly sweet or alcohol laden, smooth bitterness.

Bottle [Sk8viking great American blind tasting] Small brownish bubbly head that mostly diminished. Spare display of lacework. Pitch black color. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, burned malt, liquorish. Wood, hint of vanilla, and bitter liquorish. Medium to full bodied with an average carbonation and dry thick alcoholic texture. Moderated to heavy sweet flavor with good counter bitterness. Lingering pine dry and bitter liquorish finish. 8 / 3 / 8 / 4 / 16 = 3.9

Bottle from The Bier Stein in Eugene, OR. Poured a dark brown almost black. I could definately smell the roasted malts. Bitter roasted malt flavor backed with coffee and nutty flavors. Well done for a stout.

Sampled @ pikes. Dark opaque brown with thin tan head. Aroma of sweetened coffee, flavors of nice roasted barley and cocoa, good maltiness in the finish. Drinkable brew.

22 oz. bottle from Total Wine in Chesapeake, VA. Dark brown, nearly black, pour with a creamy tan head. Roasted malt, coffee, and dark chocolate aromas. Big, I mean huge, smoky dark chocolate flavor. Rich and roasty. Quite nice overall but perhaps a bit overpowering with just how rich this is.

Bottle shared with the guys courtesy of ScottyP from his trip to Austin. Near black pour with decent, fading dark tan head. Roasty, smokey, chocolate. Some coffee in the finish. A little thin on the palate. Cool label.

Black with short lived tan head. Nose has a lot of roast with some sugary fruit, alcohol, slight hop and vanilla. Flavor is quite roasty and rather bitter, but it’s balanced by chocolate and fresh hop in the long finish. Nice beer, well rounded. and quite effective.
