COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A full-bodied beer with deep chocolate color, velvety malt texture, and a dark-roasted flavor, with hints of smokiness and coffee. It combines the dryness of traditional Dublin-style stout with the strength and character of Imperial Stout.

Deep Dark body, just a hint of brown around the edges. Thin, light brown head. Looks good... Way roasty nose w/dark chocolate notes, espresso and alcohol. Rich, smooth and surprisingly strong. Dry, roastey, super stouty finish: coffee beans, alcohol, lots of bitter cocoa and a hint of rich smoke. I just can't believe that something this good comes from 4 ingredients. WOW

Pours black, almost opaque with a small, brownish head. Aroma of roasted malts and chocolate with some raisin. Flavors are similar, though the roast comes out a bit more. Nice smooth stout.

A rich dark chocolate aroma. Flavor is almost oatmeal stout thick. Chewy chocolate. Roasty but quite good in small amounts.

This was from a 22oz bottle purchased in Ashland, Oregon. It poured a deep black color, and left a nice tan head. Lacing was chunky and attractive in the glass. The nose was sweet molasses, roasted coffee, dark chocolate, nice roast malts, and citrus hops. Mouthfeel was thick and oily, and very smooth. Flavor is the molasses, coffee, chocolate, malts, hops and some sweet fruits kicking in. and some dark fruits. Finish was long and enjoyable with just enough piney hops to go with the coffee at the end. Wonderful brew.

Courtesy of Acertain. <P> Baker’s chocolate, coffee and roasted malts pop out in the aroma, but overall the aroma is less intense than my ideal. Poured a very deep black with a dark prown/purple tinted mocha head. Fore is full of dark roasted notes along with chooclate, plum, molasses, raisin, bourbon and even some Brown ale nuttiness. A whole lot of flavor points here. Finish is laced with cream, chocolate, low bitterness coffee and a kick of alcohol. A damn fine beer.

Jet black with rich, frothy mocha head. Big nose of coffee, chocolate malt, and sweet dark sugars. Flavor is roasty with fantastic mix of coffee and chocolate, with out an astringent finish. Creamy mouthfeel. Great stout.

Pours jet oily black, with a small, swirly light brown head. Very syrupy sweet nose, alot of caramel, chocolate, licorice, light coffee, and dark malt are all abundant and sharp. The flavor is bigger on the roast then I got in the nose, tons of bitter dark chocolate, caramel malt, and subtle hops in the finish. Really enjoyed the balance and its full flavoredbody. Pretty kick ass stout.

12 oz bottle, 05-06 vintage, via acertain. Pours a thick black, almost motor oil in color. Small but attractive chocolate brown head that faded to a thin ring quickly. Aroma is burnt, roasted, and chocolate malts, raisons, coffee, a touch of alcohol, and a dry yeast character. Flavor is burnt malt, coffee, and chocolate. Finish is very dry with a little astringency and bitterness. Very good length to the finish. Full bodied with an oily texture up front fading to a drying finish. Minimal fine bubbled carbonation. A pretty awesome beer, very near the top of the heap for regular stouts.
