Clear dark black brown colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to light light heavy malty, roasted, chocolate malt. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration, dark malt, dried dark berries, dry. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is flat. [20101202]

From cask. Pours dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma is dark malty and fruity hoppy. Mild bitter, malty and slight roasted. Bitter and dry into the finish. Ends dry and bitter.

Cask@GBBF2011. Very dark brown colour, small brown head. Aroma is ashes, toasted malts, some slight liquorice. Flavour is roasted malts, fruits, some wood and mild ashy and bitter finish.

Sweet and light roasted aroma of caramel with notes of liquorice and butterscotsch.
Sweet and light roasted flavour of caramel and liquorice with notes of dark chocolate.
Roasted finish.

Cask at GBBF 2011 - Tuesday. Black - offwhite head. Buttery, fatness, off, diacetyl, berries, coffee, chocolate, lots and lots of off notes.

Gravity cask at Maidstone BF. Black, thinnish beige head. Some coffee, some tar, oily almost in mouth with dry finish. Quite chewy with a bit of caramel but overall too acidic

Cask conditioned - handpump - Great Eastern, Brighton. A dark brown/ruby coloured beer with an off-white head. The aroma is smoky and malty. Particularly smoky taste with some sweet bready malts. Smooth and really tasty.

Cask at GBBF 2011. Black beer, small beige head. Toffee and butter aroma, roasted, creamy, rather on the malty and sweet side. Toffee flavor, creamy, some fruits. Only weak hops showing.
