Cask @ Ascot Beer Festival 2009. Good citrus aroma, plenty of malt in the taste, which leads to a dry finish. A good session beer.

Cask dispense @ Freshfield Hotel,Formby 2006 Beer Festival. Described as Surrey Pale Ale.
I drank this after St. Austell’s Black Prince which was perhaps a mistake. Initially very disappointed with taste and flavour. However after a few sips the floral aroma and hoppy bitterness started to show. A bit thin on appearance but overal a satisfying session beer that I would try again.

Cask@Kingston Beer Festival, London. Lightly sweet to start, with a very moreish grapefruity hop finish, fresh fragrant character, soft and easy drinkable. Perfect for a beer drinking session, very nice.

Cask, The Rising Sun, nr Kemsing. Wonderful farmhouse pub in the middle of nowhere. Hens in the beer garden. Wonderful atmosphere inside and six real ales from micro-breweries plus decent and cheap food. A real find!. Light golden amber colour. yeasty aroma. Soft, very drinkable and very refreshing with nice softly citric notes. Tangy finish becoming dry. An absolute corker of a session bitter - very tempting to just down in one.

Probably my favorite of three Pilgrim beers tried this day (compare Progress and Crusader). Sharp bitterness at first taste and finish, lots of hops. A thin composition, but not bad for a session bitter. Distinctive flavor but not particularly pleasing. (on tap, Rising Sun pub, Epsom)
