2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
330ml bottle, shared at the XI Beer Session 18. Nov. 2010. Thanks Kostja! Chernoe Barkhatnoe, means Black Velvet. Still, the body is dark, but not black. I would say it resembles the colour of the darkest red amber stones found by the Baltic Sea. It has a small beige dense head, and an air of malt, prune and dates, but the taste is more roasted. The coffee notes and chestnut are the most noticeable, but there is also a hint of vanilla. Easy and pleasant to drink.
The brewery Piligrim Nord started its production in 2001 and has grown slowly but surely since. In 2003 they also opened their own restaurant/brewpub in Murmansk.

Thanks to Konstantin for carrying a 330ml bottle from Murmansk to Troms°. Pours a loose, off-white head. Deep, dark-amber body with a ruby tint. Smell of sweet malts, slightly roasted. Roasted malts in flavour with hints of coffee and brown sugar. Noticeable alcohol. Soft carbonated. Easy to drink (shared at a rating session in Tňrnrommet, 18.11.2010).
