This beer has a somewhat more noticeable bitterness, and its mixture of malts and rice makes it rather dry. With a refreshing feeling, balanced bouquet and full body, it works very well as an accompaniment to food. Pilsen has been on the national beer market since 1888.

Deeper yellow with minimal white head. Lots of grainy cereal. This was very drinkable and my second favourite in Costa Rica after Imperial.

This was the beer I drank nearly everyday in CR. Really not a bad beer. Clear yellow light Malty nose. Lightly sweet malts not too complex but fresh and tasty. The fresh ones surpass the graininess of older ones. But a decent malt profile and pretty decent.

One of the better beers in Costa Rica. Actually had a decent malt profile. I seemed to get more crunk pounding these.

"Another that I drank probalby just as much as the Imperial. For some reason I seemed to like it a bit more. Had a little more substance. A little more firm in the malts, not quite as skunky as the Imperial, and pretty full and filling on the palate. It was fun bringing a six of this to the beach and just chilling under a coconut tree."

Bottled. A golden beer with a thin white head. The aroma has skunky notes of brewing cereal. The flavor is sweet with notes of straw, malt, and cereal, leading to a dry finish. The body is light. Thanks Christian for sharing.

Can: in the van from Liberia Airport to Playa Flamingo: while Imperial is the clear favorite the moderatly grainy medium body refreshed me from the physical and mental heat wave one encounters when going from the Northern climnes to the equatorial area. Consumed n roughly 38 seconds. Sweating commences now.
