Commercial Description:
This beer has a somewhat more noticeable bitterness, and its mixture of malts and rice makes it rather dry. With a refreshing feeling, balanced bouquet and full body, it works very well as an accompaniment to food. Pilsen has been on the national beer market since 1888.

Can, alc. 5.1 % (BB 02/2008)
Golden color, small white head. Grainy, papery, sweet malty nose. Quite watery, mostly grainy industrial flavor. Typical cheap lager and propably the worst of three Costa Rican main brands.

canned 5,1%; courtesy of DomTom - clear and bright golden colour with a fast collapsing foam, aroma of corn, plastic and oily hops; medium-bodied, dry and quite harsh; rather long corny finish - cheap and bad stuff

350 ml can courtesy of my sister. Very pale straw colour. Aroma is slightly corny with a touch of cidery character as well. Flavour is fairly clean however, with pale malt and light grassiness. No DMS or other flaws. I can see this working at 35 degrees, but it’s hovering around 0 right now, and the closest beach is the East River.

Bottled. Golden with a frothy head. A bit sour, pungent aroma with some maltiness. Rather flat and sweet with notes of malt.

Bottled. Golden. Aroma is dominated by maize, some malt is there as well. Flavour ha some malt surface but then again maize. At least better(and maltier) than Imperial.
