Clear gold with a tiny white head. The aroma is very mild malt. The flavor is a little sweet a first, then finishes crisp and pretty balanced. Not bad.

The plane lands in San Salvador airport on the way to Madrid. Everyone gets kicked off and told to hang around for half an hour. We dash to the lounge. I hurriedly get out the Weetabix and try to get Meena to eat one in record time, Lakshmi runs to the bar with instructions to ’find me any local beer and make sure you know what it’s called’. She excels at the task, finding not one but two, and amid the mayhem of a baby feed we gave an impromptu taste test for two of El Savador’s finest - Pilsener and Suprema. This one, Pilsener, was very pale gold, lots of head, and tasted of pretty much nothing. That alone was enough to comfortably win the taste challenge! I guess this sort of product is what puts Americans off pils as a style...

transparent gold, thinnest oily white ring. Stale corn and rice nose, moderate wort. Sweeter profile, light grain and rice, soft body. Thin, no off notes.

Grain and skunk in the aroma. Watery taste with a little grassy bitterness in the finish. Not worth seeking out.

Very simple and light beer. Looses taste and aroma shortly after opening. Good for the tropics. Drink ice old with pupusas in Olocuilta.

Can from a colleague who bought it in El Salvador - thank you, Karsten! Pours nearly clear golden with very small off-white head. Faint aroma of hops and pepper, with touches of fart and yeast. Weak, bitter, hoppy flavour with notes of yeast and touches of malt and citrus. MEtallic and estery aftertaste. Watery. Nothing to write home about but a tick from a country I cannot readily rate.

Can. Citric aroma. Cloudy golden colour. Almost no head, it is white, though. The flavour is watery with a bit of clean grain and bread. Thin, but not especially foul tasting.

Pretty good compared to Honduran beers. Pours blonde with OK head and lacing. Bottle at the salvadoran market by my laundromat. Bottle.
