[I don’t need to say where I got this]
Plenty of fresh czech hops in the nose together with a citrusy sulfur. Hazy caramel with a lasting clingy white foam. Excellent caramel maltiness behind a fairly assertive bitterness that seems to be more rounded in the filtered version. Tons of fresh hops flavour, but also fermentation sulfur and even some DMS. They tell me that’s it’s impossible, but I’m sure that I could detect a hint of aromatic oak in the very end as I licked my lips. Medium body and a lasting bitterness. Moderate carbonation--higher than one may expect from a cask.

(6/26/08) Draught at Na Parkanu in Plzen. Hazy golden with a rather big and bubbly white head. Aroma of some yeast and nice grassy hoppiness. Flavor starts a bit malty sweet with some yeastiness and finishes with good grassy hops bitterness. Medium-bodied. Very fresh and tasty. 7/4/7/4/15=3.7
(6/27/08) From an oak barrel at the brewery in Plzen. Cloudy golden with a big white head. Aroma has a lot of yeast, some oak and very nice grassy hoppiness. Sweet malty flavor with some caramel, some pleasant oakiness and a long bitter hoppy grassy finish with a little spicy hint. Medium-bodied with a rounded silky mouthfeel. Really refreshing and definitely the best Pilsener I’ve ever had. 7/4/8/5/16=4.0

UPDATED: JUL 4, 2009 Entered to celebrate my rating number 10,900 with a top 50 beer. Draft from the wooden barrel in the callars of the brewery. A hazy light golden beer with a lazing beige head. The aroma is sweet with notes of straw, malt, and citrusy notes of hops as well as hints of wood. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of straw and citrus as well as lighter notes of wood and sulpur. I am amazed how great this beer is - I had no idea a pilsner could be this great.
The unfiltered version from steel tank: An unclear dark golden beer with a huge off-white head. The aroma is sweet with notes of malt, straw, hops, and grass. The flavor is sweetwith notes of grass, malt, and caramel, leading to a dry finish. [8/3/8/4/15=3.8]

The master opera of Pilsner brewery. I was exceptical about whether an unfiltered lager is posible and definitely it is. You try it from the barrel in the Pilsner Brewery is only available for tourists. The sensation of natural carbonation is incredible, aroma is fresh. Yellow opaque colour with the best foam I’ve ever seen on a lager. Unfortunately in the tour I tried pellets of hop and the taste remained in my mouth for longer, then I couldn’t differenciate the biterness from the hop to that from the beer. However it has been my best experience with lagers . Well done Pilsner Urquell!!!
