Cask conditioned handpump Waggon & Horses Brighton 20/05/14. A ruddy brown coloured beer with a white head and lace. Too sweet of the malt for me. Chewy. Clearly highly hopped but the malts are too much. Grainy and husky too. Low drinkability.

Cask, Slug and Lettuce, Leicester. Copper with an off white foam. Aromas are toast and berries with stewed apple and soapy, floral notes. Caramel with stewed apple. Flavours are sweet red berries and earthy apple with toffee and some lemony yeast. Hints of coffee with coal and a slightly gritty, dark chocolate finish Decent.

Redish amber body, small head. Aroma has some sharp unbalanced bitterness. Bit bready and grainy flavour. Something is missing.

Cask (gravity) @ 29th Pigs Ear Beer and Cider Festival 2012, at The Round Chapel in Hackney, London, England.

Clear dark red brown color with a small to average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, earthy dark malt, fruity - berry, smoke, butter. Flavor is moderate sweet with a long to average duration, smoke, sweet malt berry, sweet malt, butter notes. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is flat to soft. [20121204]

Cask-conditioned at the Bag O’Nails, Bristol 29/11/2012. Deep amber in colour, with an off-white head. Sweetish caramel, a touch of citrus fruit and a bitter, slightly roasty finish. Ok.

Pigs Ear. Clear amber beer, no real head. Palate is light and dry. Sweet malt with a touch of smoke. Lots of dried fruit including apple. Dry finish. A bit sweet. Okay.

cask Dean Swift, Nice fruity aromas, followed by some balanced malts, quite oily on the Palate, all in all not a bad beer

Scopey (7437) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - SEP 21, 2011
Cask at Dean Swift. It pours ruby-amber, with a bubbly off-white head. This rapidly turns completely flat. The nose is smoke, burnt plastic, spice and wood. The taste is smoke, wood, leather, dust, gingerbread, spice, plastic and burnt brown bread. Light to medium body and soft carbonation. Tastes infected, I can’t imagine they wanted smoke in this. Not good.

Leighton (11874) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUL 12, 2011
Cask at the Euston Tap. Pours amber-gold with a filmy, white head. Some piney hops on the nose with a bit of citrus and toast. Medium sweet flavor with grapefruit bitters, light resin and pine. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Fine, slightly oily finish, resinous, more pine and light earth, some leaves and toasty malts. A decent beer. Good start for this new brewery.
