3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 freedrift (10) - Suffolk, ENGLAND - OCT 27, 2011
cask Dean Swift, Nice fruity aromas, followed by some balanced malts, quite oily on the Palate, all in all not a bad beer
2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 Scopey (3252) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - SEP 21, 2011
Cask at Dean Swift. It pours ruby-amber, with a bubbly off-white head. This rapidly turns completely flat. The nose is smoke, burnt plastic, spice and wood. The taste is smoke, wood, leather, dust, gingerbread, spice, plastic and burnt brown bread. Light to medium body and soft carbonation. Tastes infected, I can’t imagine they wanted smoke in this. Not good.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Leighton (6973) - London, ENGLAND - JUL 12, 2011
Cask at the Euston Tap. Pours amber-gold with a filmy, white head. Some piney hops on the nose with a bit of citrus and toast. Medium sweet flavor with grapefruit bitters, light resin and pine. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Fine, slightly oily finish, resinous, more pine and light earth, some leaves and toasty malts. A decent beer. Good start for this new brewery.
