Very creative beer. WONDERFUL aroma of wheat and black walnuts. Nice malty flavor. Pours a cloudy dark amber, nice and refreshing,

Piney River Black Walnut Wheat has an extremely thick, beige, fizzy, head, a mostly clear, bubbly, brown appearance, and minimal lacing left on the glass. The aroma is full and of sweet bread crust, some brown bread yeast, and possibly walnut. Taste is of sweet, syrupy malt, brown bread, maybe some nut, and no real bitterness. Mouthfeel is light to medium and a touch slick, and Piney River Black Walnut Wheat finishes on the wet side and highly drinkable. RJT

16 oz. can picked up at RBSG. Pours a clear dark tea color with a small off-white ring for a head. Notes of toasted malts, black walnuts, brown sugar, tea, tobacco, cardboard, and earth. Light-bodied, with low carbonation and a very mellow tea-like mouthfeel. A little thin and watery, but not bad. Has potential.

Lightly carbonated, dark (walnut, like) color with minimal head. Taste fine but left with the feeling that it would be much better.

Sample at Boulevardia 2014. Comes dark brown with a small off-white head. Aroma of grain, nuts, yeast, and fruit. Taste is wheat, walnuts, yeast, and some fruit. Interesting and delicious.

Sampled at Mo Beer Fest. Darkerbrown. A nutty nose. A smoother feel. Wheat is also tasted and is just about right. Not a style that is going to wow but if it was this one would.

Tap - good size foamy head, pretty dark amber color, mild aroma, definite nutty and wheat flavors - very different than your typical wheat beer, pretty good overall ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a medium brown. Minimal head. Some wheat in the nose. Slightly chocolaty some cardboard. Slightly bitter and some burntness. Overall nice.

Clear dark brown, with an aroma like black walnut, a light sweetness, an mineral water. The flavor is like burnt cashews and grape skin. Kinda weird. But ends with a light floralness. No bitterness though.

A bit sweet, yet also stale, for the style. Like the walnut element, but still hard to love a wheat.
