3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Dark pour. Black as your hat (thanks Muck) with a sliver of light khaki head. Enormouse rye aroma with subtle earthy hop undertones. Tastes predominately grainy....a lot o’ rye, some smoke, grass, maybe leather. Just a flutter of bitterness on the back end. Bizarre for an IPA. A hit of sweetness would have rounded this guy out nicely. Props for style.

4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
The color is a very dark brown with a large off-white head, and the aroma blends roasted malts, basement aromas, rye, and grass hops. The taste is extremely tasty due to the perfect blend of the rye, the hops, and the dark malts into one unified flavor that’s slightly bitter, mildly sour, and a touch umami. The palate fuses a medium body, thick texture, soft carbonation, and a long finish that is slightly more bitter than the taste.
