3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pour is a dark black with a small tan head. Aroma is a really nice mix of piney hops and a roasted malt. I could smell the beer as I was pouring it out of the can. Flavor is again decently hoppy and roasted malt. Not as strong as the aroma let on but both are there fighting it out on your palate. Black IPA’S are not really my thing but this had an equally nice hop to roasted malt ratio that was quite flavorful.

Sampled at GABF. In the glass this was dark red with a small beige colored head. Nose of roasted chocolate malts, some fruit, and citrus. Medium in body. The flavor shows a lot of dark malts but is well balanced with the citrus and fruit. Long bitter rye finish. Good.
