Pours an opaque black on tap with fluffy tan head and light lacing as it goes down. Aroma of roasted dark barley and a piney hop back end. Taste is a lot more ballsy than the smell, big piney hop flavor and a nice dark roasty malt note in the middle. Slightly bitter finish, not too bad for the style.

Tap at Brewer’s Pizza for RBWG. Pours a deeper cola brown. Good beige foam. Nose is doggy/goaty animal, spruce, charcoal, burnt sugar, cocoa, some brew kettle notes (oatmeal, grist, honey). Taste is roasty, hoppy, bitter walnut, toast. Actually pretty solid one here from Pinglehead.

fairly sweet malt. Hops almost seem like a separate beer. Also dig the Mayan nomenclature.

Tap at Brewer’s Pizza during RBWG 2013. Pours clear brown with a fine, beige cream head. Piney and herbal hops in the nose. Medium sweet flavor, some mellow dark malts and roast, hints of menthol, burnt pine. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Resinous, juicy pine at the end with burnt malts, light roast, some earthy bitterness. Nice beer.
