3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Always thought this is a great beer. Full bodied nose, nice amber pour and taste is soft with a hint of sweetness. Good length with the high alcohol well hidden.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
330ml bottle. Soft opaque amber hue with a large frothy off white diminishing head and good lacing. Yummy mostly moderate to heavy malty and fruity aromas - caramel, toffee, milk chocolate, smokey, woody, honey/honey wax, grapefruit, dried fruit. Taste is instantly delicious - moderate to heavy sweet and moderately bitter. Medium body, oily syrupy texture, light carbonation, bitter finish.
Reminiscent of a Galbraithís ale. I thoroughly enjoyed this; apparently more than your average ratebeerian. Very nice high quality brew I reckon

1.6 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 5/20
Almost cidery and pear-like on the nose and a bit of a homebrew tang. Slight caramel and malt aroma. Seems like the beer has been mistreated somewhere along the way. Taste isnít all bad but isnít nice. Honey sweet with raisins and alcohol with a tangy finish.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle 330ml. Another great pink elephant. Aromas of caramel, grass, and alcohol. Taste is sweet and spicy, with bitter notes, and a long-lasting finish. Palate is velvety, with a medium-to-full body. Amber with a frothy persistent head.

1.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 7/20
Bottle, 12C Amber, beige head fades to a good coat. Low bead. Caramel and resin aroma. Some fortified wine or even Retsina character. Thereís also murky barnyard yeast in the aroma. Syrupy and very boozy for 7.1%. Big toffee taste with quite a lot of resinous and spicy bitterness. Some funk and alcohol there too. This is a rather strange beer - itís like an English Strong Ale with Belgian yeast and New World hops. And itís pretty horrible.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Smells like an APA, lots for resiny hops floating over a hint of banana. Lots of alcohol on the nose. Light brown, fast evaporating head. Tiny bits of sweetness disolve into sour notes, fading to a very very long rough bitter aftertaste. Quite light and fluffy on the tounge, almost belgian in mouthfeel. Overall, an odd little ale. Lots of hops, but not as fresh as Iíd like an APA to feel. Very bitter, but not at all an English bitter style. Odd, but enjoyable. Will try again, but truthfully I wonder if a better ale couldíve come from not brewing for as high an alcohol content?

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Not sure if the style is right here as I read this more as a Belgian Ale. Lots of meaty stinky malts points me this way, although I do concede that the hop impact, particularly on the finish (think floral herbal hops) nods in the direction of an ESB. As others have noted quite fizzy and this does take the edge off the flavour intensity.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
330 ml bottle
Aroma: malt and some fruit I canít put my finger on. Reminds of something I had for breakfast, might be a syrup of some kind. I am intrigued.
Appearance: clear yellowish brown with big off-white head that dissipates quickly to a very thin film with rocky lacing.
Taste: while there is bitterness, it is not predominant, there is a little sweetness and maybe a hint of sour.
Palate: medium body, light cream texture, a tad bit sticky. Good carbonation and a longish finish, very mellow.
Overall: That missing aroma is going to bug me till I figure it out. Complex, with nice highlights and finish.
