eczematic (1153), Sydney, Australia Jan 6, 2004 tastes pretty much identical to fullers 1845 to me, a real fruitcakey beer if ever there was one. yummy combination of dry firm malt and heaps of spicy dry hop taste - did i mention the word dry in that sentence? bitter but balanced. lots of pepper in finish. real good. dreamboat (186), Brisbane, Australia May 4, 2004 I found this beer to be very similar to the Mammoth, with just a litle less of everything - less alcohol, a bit less hop and malt taste, and not quite such a funky aroma. Would make an excellent session beer. motelpogo (4111), Plzen, Czech Republic Jan 7, 2004 some pretty damn good yeast they've got going there. sweet stonefruit aroma. hint of butterscotch schnapps and then some pepperiness and a slow bitter finish with some self raising flour rgrep (148), Blenheim, New Zealand Jun 21, 2005 Hoppy nose with notes of malt, spice and maple. The body is warm and malty with peppery undertones and sweet hints of brown sugar and male syrup. Pours a deep bronze with a fluffy off-white head. Kaya161 (1129), Aspen, Colorado, USA May 27, 2002 Dark copper colour with a well formed off-white head. Butterscotch aroma. Rich caramel malt flavour followed by some chewy hop flavour and bitterness before a quick, clean finish. Fairly thin on the palate, as with all of their beers.
