Bottle from old backlog notes 07. Pours a hazy yellow golden color with a medium sized white head. The aroma and flavor have pale wheat malts, grainy, light citrus, mild banana, light spice, watery mouthfeel, Meh.

Aroma is fairly subtle with light hints of yeast, lemon grass and citrus. Taste is a sweet yet dry grain profile. Finishes with a very subtle bitterness. Body is a pale gold with a pearl head that retains poorly

It pours with a large head. It is light hazy yellow. It does leave considerable lacing as the head disappears. It has an aroma of wheat, cheese, and lemons. It has a lemony taste with a standard wheat flavor.

This beer is a high quality great tasting organic beer. Organic beers are soon to be the new market trend as further evidence of gmo’s and pesticides are linked to major health issues. This beer is perfectly balanced with refreshing hints of lemon and grass that excite the palate. I would highly recommend this beer to any Hefeweizen beer lovers.

Nose dominated by lemons with a bit of banana. Unfiltered straw color, rushing small bubble stream pours up from the depths. Taste is big on the ripe bananas, then finishes super clean. Not great not bad.

This beer has all the usual traits of a German hefeweizen, but with an unpleasent sweetish metallic taste to it. Bit of a bummer really.

pours dirty grey-yellowish with a small creamy off-white head, some retention and lacing. very yeasty - peppery and slightly moldy, very spicy too - coriander notes, wheat, hint of corn and grape juice, faint phenolic esters, grass. moderate carboantion, light body - slightly watery, dry herbal-grassy-spicy finish. meh. bartlebier (1803) - Belchum im Breisgau, GERMANY - APR 1, 2014
UPDATED: APR 2, 2014 50cl bottle, (Bio)Marktladen FR-Rieselfeld - BB08/2014. Pours a very milky, hazy green-yellow with soft head. Not much of a nose, at most subdued fruitiness. Taste is atypically hop-forward grassy spiciness for a Hefeweizen, probably due to Tettnanger and a wheat/barley malt profile that has much in common with their likewise atypical Alt/Kölsch crossover. Fruity notes of apple juice and summer peaches, with especially the green apple and milky (whey) fruitiness components reminiscent of a Belgian wit, save the yeast profile. All aromas remain faint, on a dryish, slightly adhesive palate. Light-bodied and thirst-quenching in hot weather, but unlikely to impress within the style range of Hefeweizen. Pinkus seems to specialise in unintended style crossovers...
