Pinkus Hefe Weizen

Pours fizzy yellow with a small head. Aroma is a tiny bit of citrus and not much else. Flavor is weak with hints of clove and other hefe characteristics trying to sneak through. Bland.

I am really surprised that this beer has only 5% alcohol as it has a strong alcohol taste. Also this one is hopped rather strongly. Even with 60% wheat malt used this one does not have much of a wheat beer taste. Still this one has full body and will not come off as weak or watered down.

Bottle. Cloudy straw colour with lovely firm head. Lightly malty, cloves, youghurt, hints of citrus and metal, highly carbonated. Light to medium body.

Deep yellow hazy body under a smallish head. Fruity aroma with no typical wheat aromas present. Sweet light flavor that just didn’t give that good wheat beer taste that it should have. Perhaps this one suffered from the trip from Germany as many of these do. Below average.

In the 0.5L bottle at Dundee Dell. Almost a brown yellow in color. Dense and cloudy. Weak head retention for a hefe. Aroma of grass, but not very overpowering. Mild esters. Mediocre hefe for Bavaria.

Organic yet delicious. Aroma was disappointing, but the flavor was good. Aftertaste was all orange juice. Decent hefe, but not something that will draw me back for more.

Hazy golden color, light fruity aroma, weak taste, light body, wartery finish.

Sweet bubblegum and banana aroma with some grainy wheat notes. Cloudy golden color with a decent white head. Light crisp wheaty flavor. Very slight hint of clove and a light sweetness in the finsih. Rather bland, but at least it’s organic.
