lumpsowers (235), Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, USA Sep 29, 2008 Beautiful pour, cloudy amber-straw, thick foamy head, with significant lacing. Sweet, floral aroma, the hops are cinnamon, sweet, some nutmeg and grape citrus flavor. Thick mouthfeel for a wheat, why doesn’t this brew have a higher rating? I liked this beer a lot. Gypsy19 (603), California, USA Sep 29, 2008 A decent, though by no means great hefeweizen. Little carbonation or head, and very little in the flavor department. Some subtle wheat, citrus, and pineapple characters are present, but that’s about it. Boring.
dkachur (2318), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA Sep 28, 2008 500 mL bottle from Market Street Wine Shop Downtown Charlottesville. Lemon-orange pour, hazy, with a huge head. Moderate retention and lacing. Aroma of candied citrus, spice and banana. Taste is citrus, bread, banana, cotton candy, wheat, grain. On the sweeter side. Thin body. heavy (815), Split, Croatia Sep 23, 2008 0.5 l bottle shared with a friend who brought from Köln, thanks Toni. It poured murky golden body, lighter in color than most of Hefeweizens. Bigger head. Typical estery aroma, banana, some orange, cloves, quite nice. Flavor is a bit watery, but pleasantly sweet wheat malty with that fruity notes of yeast. Finish lasts for a short period but follows beer’s pleasant flavor. OK, pleasant but nothing particularly good, pretty lower average Hefeweizen. ucusty (1871), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA Sep 17, 2008 Hazy yellow pour with white head and drippy lace. Bubblegum and banana aroma. Similar flavor with some hints of clove. Swalden28 (1439), McKinney, Texas, USA Sep 7, 2008 Bottle from Kegs & Barels in McKinney, TX.
Pours a cloudy gold with nice white head. Small aroma of bannana and lemon. Flavor has small bannana notes with some light citris and bread. Mouth feel is light with high carbonation. Over all this is a pretty good basic Heff.... yesyouam (587), Fairport, New York, USA Sep 5, 2008 Pinkus Hefe Weizen is a cloudy, highly sparkling, pale yellow beer with a small white head that quickly dissipates. The aroma is a bit faint, and of bubble gum, banana and lemon. It is light bodied and fluffy in the mouth. It seems pretty watery and it leaves the tongue a bit ragged and chalky. I taste wheat, but there really isn’t any presence from the esters. There is a little bit of fusel going on here. The flavor is pretty disjointed. It kind of tastes like chalk, aspirin, Natural Ice and Wheaties. I will smoke a cigarette while drinking the rest of this beer. It seems like an American wheat beer gone wrong. argo0 (6861), Washington DC, USA Sep 1, 2008 (50cl bottle) Large white head atop hazy apple juice body. Aroma is moderately sweet, banana, bubblegum. Taste is medium sweet, bubblegum, some banana. Watery light body with low carbonation.
