1.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20 ClubGonzo (1736) - Bergen, NORWAY - JUL 17, 2010
Pours a hazy straw-hued orange with a pretty disappointing head; the retention fades shortly and is far from what I associate with a feisty weizen. Smell is sweet pale malts with some citric tones, hints of clove and...oh no...it’s...it’s...cooked veggies! Not here, not in a weissbier! This does not bode well. Taste is mild, and I immediately notice a carbonation firework which is slightly disruptive to the palate. Seems strange considering the insignificant head I poured in the beginning. Some grainy notes and hints of banana, otherwise Pinkus Hefe Weizen is one of the most boring, failed weissbiers I’ve had in a while. I don’t care how ecological you are; if you fail at making quality products you’re only hurting a good cause.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 mrhoppy (600) - Santa Clara, California, USA - JUL 11, 2010
Initial overall impression on aroma and flavor if I can sum it up. It is it is like a Pilsner/Hefeweizen. Hefeweizen character and slight dominance in Pilsner flavor. Light bread, spice and lemon flavors. The fresh bread element is very appealing. The body is a little thin and watery thereby making it refreshing. Lemony finish. Soft on the palate. Very unique.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20 gunnar (2281) - Sandnes, NORWAY - JUL 9, 2010
50 cl bottle from Vinmonopolet. Pours cloudy light straw coloured with a greenish touch and a big fluffy white head. Aroma of cloves, citrus and the light banana as expected. Soft mouthfeel., well carbonated. Taste is fruity hops with a citrusy edge to it. Not too bad.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 tarjei (1941) - Bryne, NORWAY - JUL 7, 2010
50 cl bottle at home. Cloudy yellow color, big and lasting white head. Aroma is floral hops and some banana. Flavor is more than medium sweet, fruity and wheaty, with a hint of sourness. Thin body and mouthfeel. Not bad, but had it after the super, new batch of Nøgne Ø Saison (#504)....
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 Gr0ve (1763) - Oslo, NORWAY - JUL 7, 2010
500 ml bottle. Cloudy whiteish golden. Tall creamy white head. Bubbles rising towards the surface. Floral hops aroma with cloves and a weak note of bananas. A little soap too. Clean fruity flavours with a soft malty and wheaty note. Well rounded and soft. Finishes with a hint of citrus and bread. Quite delicate, and very enjoyable.
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Fevernova (210) - Athens, Ohio, USA - JUL 7, 2010
500mL Bottle -- Pours yellow-amber with a thin white head. Aromas of lemon, hay, some band-aid, and yeast. The nose is very clean and fragrant, yet kind of simplistic. Mellow sweetness that last throughout the palate, and some light tartness. Subdued but very attractive.
