3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Presentation: 500mL brown bottle, served in a weizen glass.
Appearance: Develops a two finger head that goes down a bit and then stays there. It has a cloudy, pale yellow color.
Smell: The aroma has a refreshing fruit zest character to it, of lemon mainly. There’s also faint malt, hop and yeast scents in the background.
Taste: Zesty citrus flavor mixed with some hop bitterness and a hint of malt sweetness. All of this followed up by a bit of yeast chalkiness in the background.
Mouthfeel: Dry, light, and refreshing, with little carbonation.
Overall: Just because it has a refreshing character, doesn’t mean it’s still not a flavorful beer. On the contrary, tt’s great because it’s versatile. You can just enjoy it on it’s own, and really get into it, or just sip on it to cool down without giving it much though. You can also have it with food and it won’t be a distraction, but it’ll be more interesting than your average ale or lager. Just a good all around beer.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from Bear Cafe, Todmorden. Dishwater yellow coloured with a small head. Stated enough, but quite light in its character carrying some nose and some pale malt fruitiness.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle from Masuyo’s. Drank straight from the bottle. Not really much hefeweizen nose to speak of. A slight bit of clove I guess, but not really much banana. Kind of grainy and malty taste with the yeast there as well. Slightly sweet but not overly so. A touch of sourness. Just not that impressive.

3.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
UPDATED: MAY 7, 2015 500 ml bottle. Organic Hefeweizen from Whole Foods. A subtle yet distinct light wheat flavor pervades, free of the usual wheat beer spices. On the drier side, but does have some sweetness. As the flavor advances yeast begins with a light, grassy and hay like presence at the very end. Good carbonation. An extremely smooth, refreshing and somewhat subdued Hefeweizen. Unique.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a slightly hazy golden yellow reminiscent of fresh lemon juice and a big fluffy head. Aromas are faint - wheat, yeastiness, biscuit and a touch of citrus. It's definitely lacking some basic hefeweizen characteristics.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottled 500ml. -from Rudat Dortmund. I’ve spent last few years chasing for Pinkus Müller beers and now when I finally found them all three are just average (Original, Hefe Weizen and Pils). Pitty. Cloudy yellow/orange coloured, medium sized white head, let’s say wet yeasty nose. Slight malty, mild wheaty and yeasty, tartish fruity, and hint of caramel with light fruity acidity in the finish. Hmmmm...average weizen without any noticable characteristics to be stated in MJ’s 500 beers book.

Thanks Ogi! This is a strange bird, from the, well, unique if anything label design to the taste itself... anyway... shiny murky yellow body with a small white head. Fruity, dusty, yeasty aroma, qutie complex. The taste, however... thin, prickly carbonation, sourish (subdued lemony tartness), very vague bitterness, no phenols, no esters really - quite unique, not exactly inviting, pleasant and yet not, halfway between a regular hefeweizen and a gueuze. Glad to have tried it though I’m unsure what to make of it.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Light cloudy yellow white disappaiting head. Grainy aroma. Taste is rather dry, some lactose, almost like a Berliner Weisse without the sour element. Really doesn’t have the sweet banana elements you’d expect in a good hefeweizen. I guess it’s unique anyway.

2.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Een troebel, sinas-kleurig geel bier met een mooie luchtige kraag. Het aroma is iets zurig, maar niet echt op de voorgrond. Een vol bittere smaak met de toets van alcohol, maar ook veel koolzuur. Een iets zurige nasmaak blijft even hangen.
A bit cloudy, somewhat "fanta-orange" colored beer with a nice full layer of foam. The aroma is somewhat sour, but remains in the background. A nice full bitter taste with the touch of alcohol. A somewhat sour aftertaste remains for a while.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle 50cl. From local organic shop. Cloudy pale yellow-white, good frothy white head, diminishes almost completely rather quick, almost no lacing; aroma yeast, wheat, lemon, light banana, some clove; taste light sweet, light sour, slightly bitter, citrus notes, peppery; medium body, watery texture, average carbonation, aftertaste light sweet and sour, as well as light bitterness, spicy mouthfeel; overall an odd weizen, quite different from the South German style.
