This is sort of the meeting point between a typical German Hefe and the Berliner Weisse style, seemingly. Flavor is citric (lemony) and malty, but the finish is quite acidic (and is also a bit too abrupt) and the mouthfeel is very bubbly and effervescent. Aftertaste has some dry tartness and grape flavors. Not your typical German Hefe, certainly. Body is very light. I almost wish the brewer had gone one way or the other, towards the creamy, yeasty Hefes or the acidic Berliners. It winds up a bit confused in the end, although it is very unique. Slight background bitterness. Fairly dry. Not particularly wonderful, but I've had worse. mjg74 (2001), La Mesa, California, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 3, 2005 Bottled. Pours a hazy yellow color with a medium white head Not alot of aroma a little yeast and grain. Fairly bland hefe. Tastes more ike an American wheat than a German hefe. Nothing wrong with it, I just prefer a little more flavor. Ron (1040), Rochester, New York, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Sep 5, 2006 My 450th. Fitting in the summer to be a wheat beer. I was disapointed by this one though. It was not as good as the other German Hefe’s I’ve have recently. No head stayed after the pour. Faint wheat aroma. Also weak flavor of wheat citrus and yeast. I added alot of lemon to improve this. Then it was more refreshing. Murphy (1759), Fort Collins, Colorado, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | May 20, 2005 Fluffy white head. Body is just barely yellow, very clear. Aroma is just hints of lemon. Medium to light body, mainly because of the sweetness of the beer. Wheaty taste with citrus notes, finish is bitter and dry but overall unfulfiling. Needs a bigger punch. Still refreshing though. bierkoning (6114), La Tropica, Netherlands

Hint of banana and clover. Yeasty, in fact a bit too yeasty. Nice enough, with a hint of citrus. The altbier is better. joeyplush (338), Garnet Valley, Pennsylvania, USA

Light aroma of bananas along with some honey and dough. Taste is thick and sweet, with definite honey flavors. Reid (1093), Salem, Oregon, USA

Aroma is quite subdued for style but perfectly pleasant with hints of wheat, not very yeasty, lemon grass, a hint of hay, not spicy.
Taste is quite weak here mostly wheat, some very feeble esters, bananas, peppery on the back of the tongue.
Ok on the palate, i will say average because its a very hot day here.
Not impressed with this one a weak German hefe.
