0,5l bottle. pours pale light clear with lacing thick head. Aromas herbs, berries, fruits, sweet malt and hints of floral hops. Some apricot. Texture smooth sticky with soft carbonation, medium bodied, crispy and fruity notes. Palate very herbal, sweet, mild and slightly wine like acidic not sour but more sweet. Aftertaste flat thin watery. Finish short with vague hints dryness. No clear hoppiness or bitterness. For a style quite decent, somewhat mild but with notable fruity flavours. More like kölsch than altbier. Drinkable.

Flaske 0,5l fra Vinmonopolet, Tromsø Langnes. Veldig lys gylden. Høyt luftig skum som daler sakte. God malt & fruktaroma med innslag av krydder. Myk munnfølelse. Smaken er søt frukt. Plommer. Blir etterhvert litt tørr og en anelse bitter. OK matøl. KI=5

Bottle at home. Golden straw-coloured with a big, thick and bumpy head, almost like wipped egg white. Aromas of grains, hay and sweet corn, not too far from a pale lager. But also wood and some spices. Pretty mouch of the same in the mouth but with addition of wheat and a slightly fruity and sour touch. Feels dry in the end with light bitterness. Medium to heavy carbonated. Surprisingly creamy mouthfeel and a little bit watery. This is a bit different beer but doesn’t remind me of an altbier, more like a rounder pale lager beer.

Pours a slightly hazy gold with a bubbly head that quickly dissipates. Metallic aroma with bready malt. Very watery flavor with mild hints of bitter, resinous hops. Moderately carbonated with very light body, thin palate. Overall, not a very satisfying beer.

Bottle as Pinkus Original Obergärig Alt. Pours clear yellow with a white head. Aroma of yeast, malt and herbs. Sweet and fruity with a bit dry and slightly bitter finish.

UPDATED: JAN 7, 2012 Bottle in kolsch glass (had to fill multiple times, which was fun.) The initial whiff was offputting to me, too wheaty, yeasty, sweet. This is a hazy yellow with a not much retention of head. The taste was a bit better than the aroma, kind of sweet, corn taste. I hope to try better altbiers sometime.
