(Pinkus Münstersch Alt) As Pinkus Original Obergarig. Bottle 500 ml at home, served into an alt glass, ABV 5.1% Not at all what I expected as it pours a golden yellow beer, with one finger of white head, collapsing fast. Light lacing on the glass. Aroma of malts, dust, a bit sour-ish. Taste of malts, again slightly sour, straw, grass, not that different from a pilsner, light metallic notes on the finish. Good bitterness on the aftertaste though. Thin body, notable carbonation. Nicely dry on the palate. Again, not what I expected from an altbier, I see now it’s a Munster Alt hich is totally different, still nothing extra ordinary.

Bottle. Grainy, with apple juice, cardboard and honey, some metal and a light yet strange tartness. Well, this comes across like a slightly oxidised and slightly off version of a kolsch. Not good.

Bottle. Pours mostly clear golden with decent white head. Nose and taste is way too grainy. Tastes like bad homebrew.

Bottle. Not sure what to expect from a Munster Alt (having read much about this style (as being quite different from your standard Alt), but never having had one). Pours with an almost clear yellow hued body with a medium sized white head that is somewhat quick to fade. Aromas are biscuity, baked bread, honey, floral, slightly faded, tea. Lightly herbaceous with a touch of lemon. Flavors are dry, floral, almost a touch sour. Toasty malt backbone, floral, clean fermentation. Medium bitter. Lively carbonation, dry, slightly oxidized.

UPDATED: AUG 13, 2014 Bottle at World of beer .Pours golden clear. Did I miss the memo about alts not being German ales that are amber to brown? Aroma is grassy with malt in the back and some hint of tartness. Light mouthfeel. Pretty light beer. Flavor is light malt sweetness with a slight tartness at the end. Decent light summer beer. Horrific alt.
