Bottle 50 cl. Pours light clear yellow kind of sparkly with little white head. Notes of caramel, citrus and honey. Kind of sweet. Abit plain like an lager. Refreshing but nothing too special, not really much of an altbier. Certainly not the real original Altbier. Still drinkable.

UPDATED: AUG 13, 2014 Bottle at World of beer .Pours golden clear. Did I miss the memo about alts not being German ales that are amber to brown? Aroma is grassy with malt in the back and some hint of tartness. Light mouthfeel. Pretty light beer. Flavor is light malt sweetness with a slight tartness at the end. Decent light summer beer. Horrific alt.

Bottle from Vierhunter111, many thanks: Malty/grainy aroma with grassy hops. Golden color, white head. Flavor is light malty, bit grainy, fresh. Grassy and light citric hops. Dry finish.

The body has a slightly hazy golden body which seems a bit light for the style. There is some visible carbonation that helps support it tall white head. The hangs on very well and makes good splotchy lace patters on the glass. Its aroma is mostly malty and nutty with some classic German spicy floral hops mixed in with just the slightest touch of mineral. I get a firm medium bodied beer with loads of bready and nutty maltiness with just a touch of dry earthy yeast. This is balanced by classic German hops that add some spicy and floral flavor notes as well as some moderate bitterness and dryness. Its finish is bready and dry with hints of the hops.

Bottle at World of Beer Easton while watching the Germany vs. Algeria game on 6/30/14. Clear gold in color with a thick white head. Aroma of malt, a bit of bread and crisp hops. Malty flavor with mild tartness before a bitter finish.

Bottle from old backlog notes 07. Pours a dark golden color with a medium sized white head. The aroma and flavor have grainy, cereal malts, light caramel, grass, earthy notes, the nose was weaker, flavor is boring.

Bottle: Light, clear gold with a tall, but quick white head. Perfume, lemon aroma. Taste is sweet grain, tart green banana, acidic light fruit...bright. Different..qualities of a pale lager and a witbier in one.

I’ve never had an Alt like this one. That’s not a compliment. This brew looked pale rather than having the lovely copper-amber shade that I associate with the style. Really, it looked more like a Lager than an Alt. The cereal grain aromas reminded me of one, too. I was also reminded of a Lager (a bad one, I should say) when I tasted it. Thin-bodied, light on flavor... just not very satisfying. As it warms, the flavor gets even worse; it takes on a skunky taste. Kudos to this beer for being organic (I guess) but when a beer sucks this hard I don’t care how it’s made.

Bottle. A- Malts, cereal, hay, bread. A- Golden color, clear liquid, white head. T- Malty, cereal, wheat, subtle banana, subtle spice. P- Light body, average texture, average carbonation, crisp finish. O- Tasted a lot like a pale lager blended with a very subtle amount of a wheat beer. Not really anything to get excited about with this one. Just a let down in all aspects.

Wob cap. .bottle. Clear gold. Toasty malt aroma. Slightly corny, bready, and malt flavored moderate bitter beer. Clean tasting lager like. I understand it’s not the northern German alt style so it’s not as caramel and brown colored. Tastes very much like a Munich helles. Clean easy drinking malt forward, slightly fruity and spiced but mostly lager like. Slight grainy sweetness persists. Wouldn’t necessarily reach for this again, unless maybe in Germany.
