2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 onlyrocknroll (365) - Antwerp, BELGIUM - JAN 30, 2008
Hazy yellow with a head that pours large but dissappears rapidly. Yeasty fruity aroma and very yeasty flavour with a sort of lemon lke tartness. Despite having a firm body and low carbonation I found this hard to finish. Interesting but not great.

0.5 l bottle. Slightly hazy golden color with medium head. Honeyish, grainy herbal and flowery aroma. Grainy and malty flavor with notes of raspberry, medium bitterness and some herbal-peppery hop flavor. Some rounded kellerbier character. BB december 2007, tastes slightly old.

Binny’s Orland
Pinkus’ Organic Up-Pils is an unfiltered pils but pours surprisingly clear. The straw golden liquid is littered with large carbonation bubbles racing to the surface. A half-finger white creamy head appeared on the pour and dropped to half that size within a few seconds. The body looks really good but the head and lacing leave things to be desired.
Aroma is typical pils with one exception. There’s a noticeable sweet honey presence that adds to things nicely. Fresh grain makes up the maltiness and there’s a mildly spicy floral hop aroma. Smells good and the slight sweetness from the honey adds a nice touch.
The flavor is right on with the smell but the sweetness is a little more than I’d prefer for a pils. The sweetness takes away from the crispness that makes a good pils a good pils.
Medium body and just on the verge of being crisp, unfortunately the crispness is what I look for in a pils. Lively carbonation keeps things movingwithout turning prickly.
This is a beer you could without a doubt drink a lot of. IT’s satisfying and goes down quite easily.
All around this is a decent pilsner from Pinkus. I don’t know if I would spend $3.50 on another pint (at home) but I sure wouldn’t pass one up if offered.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 ultraspank (866) - Dublin, Ohio, USA - DEC 20, 2007
A very inviting nose of honeyed grains and cereal. Spicy fruity aromas suggest banana bread. Pours pale straw. The tall frothy white head is mostly lasting with light lace. The brew is well balanced with moderate acidity. The finish is toasted and brief. The light creamy body is soft to lively, and feels clean at the finish. This is a very excellent beer. Would be my beer of choice no doubt in the summertime. I could kill six of these in no time flat.
