08.01.07 500ml bottle. Nice enough loking beer is hazed pale golden with sturdy white head and spotty lace. Aroma is bready and fresh with very herbal notes that have a strong memory impact but I cannot for the life of me remember what it is. OH! It’s the paste we used in school when I was a kid! Well, that’s a bit of a turn-off in a beer, but does bring back some good memories. Anyway, it’s a bit citrusy as well and very yeasty. Finishes with a brisk bitterness but leaves a lingering sweetness and that paste is stuck in my head now, so, meh.

UPDATED: FEB 22, 2007 I am not a pilsner fan, but I did enjoy this for a pilsner. Pour is hazy gold with small white head. Aroma and taste are quite refreshing. Citrus, hops, some malty notes, and grain. A nice beer.

Organic, golden with an OK head. the aroma is typically pilsner-like with notes of malt and hops. I think the flavour is a bit thin, but it has a nice bitterness. The overall impression is an ordinary beer...

Bottle. Corn and sour dough aroma. Cloudy yellow-brown color with small head. Corn and sour dough flavor as well - very slight hops finish. This sample tastes past its prime.

Pours light golden with an effervescent body. Aroma of honey malt, toasted grains, and bready lager yeast. Tastes of lightly bready malt and sweet grains. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with lively carbonation. Not bad, but not really refreshing. I would have cared for more hops, a drier finish, and less residual sugars.

solid german beer but not fancy by any means. nice bread smell, fizzy in the mouth, and clean crisp finish. i wish i had about three more of these right now.

UPDATED: FEB 17, 2007 Cloudy beige. The aroma is yeasty (sweat, dust) and fruity. There is a doughy yeast note that takes the lead here, followed by a moderate herbal-grassy bitterness and light hop taste. Malts are fairly subdued, in the north German tradition. OK...the yeast that differentiates it from most of its peers also gets in the way a bit, though. UPDATE: a fresher sample yields what one might expect...I didn’t really notice that the other sample rated wasn’t fresh but here it’s evident that this one is. The hops explode in the aroma and the brightness of the flavours is far beyond any of the canned pilsners I’m used to drinking. Major upgrade...it’s a pils, it’s got to be fresh. (Still a bit mild, though. I want more bitterness!)

Definately not a bad beer. Pours a nice orange color with not too much head. Tastes like liquid bread and has a nice little sweer flavour. I paid 5 dollars for this bottle of beer, so I am not sure if it was quite worth it, but in general this is certainly not a bad beer.
