3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Very light in body, flavor and aroma. I’m starting to think that a lot of these central European pilseners would be a lot better fresh, because I’m pretty sure this bottle has been on the shelf for at least 6 months and the hop profile has surely faded. Anyway, it’s a good thirst quencher with some mild, grassy hops.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle at home. Clear golden pour. Aroma of slightly spicy floral hops, quite crispy and some grains. Flavor is mild bitter, simple but clean pilsener with just a bit above average hops. Nice and refreshing on a sunny day, although nothing special.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
DATE TASTED: May 1, 2014... GLASSWARE: Weihenstaphaner pilsner... OCCASION: a 78-degree day begging for a pilsner!... APPEARANCE: cloudy, hazy; almost appears unfiltered and murky golden; thick white head recedes swiftly; zero lacing as well... AROMA: fragrant hops suggest lilac and heavy bubblegum; a bit of honey too... PALATE: smooth, mellow, and slightly fizzy at the teeth; extremely drinkable and thirst-quenching...TASTE: rather subdued, suppressed lemon-grass spritz; some doughy malts arrive late--not as clear in its profile as expected... OVERALL: a surprisingly soft, unsubstantially flavored pilsner from a place I expect pilsners to fall like leaves; not sure the organic element has much to do with the look or taste, but the smoothness offsets the weak profile slightly...not sure what to make of this one in the end.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Lemony yellow in glass. Mild haze. Good white hear. Grass, light a grain and some pepper on the nose. Fairly basic. Very clean flavor. Resinous. Some bitterness at the end. Quick hits of sweet-ish malts in the middle. Very classic pils tastes. More flavorful than the tame nose suggests. Lively carbonation. Enjoyable.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
50cl bottle, Edeka Mohr, Bonn 02/2014. Bb 06/2014. Another Bioland-certified product from Pinkus, straight to all bio supermarkets in the EU (6-multilingual label). Pours a grassy yellow with white head, not much of a nose besides pale maltiness. Very thin-bodied, flushing any natural hops that may be there straight through, leaving a pleasant dry (white) breadiness with a too decent for its own good hop prickle behind. Fair to say Pinkus with its Bioland range aimes to please Eco label fetishists more than palates.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Mild lemon nose. Hazy golden, thick head. Light malt, grassy finish, metallic throughout. Light body, soft carbonation. Solid pilsner, way better than the PBR I had to resort to last night.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Pours a clear light yellow color with a white head. The smell is light sweet malt, grain, grassy hops. The taste is as it smells though with an initial metallic element that fades away after a few seconds. The beer finished dry and slightly bitter. Light in body with decent carbonation.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
500ml bottle into a shaker glass; served cold.
Aroma: Malty, with a little bit of pale hop. The aroma is basic, but large.
Appearance: Oddly enough, it’s slightly hazy. Bright yellow body, no head. No lacing.
Taste: Malt-forward. A bit of piney hop. Decent enough stuff, a little bit more bitter than your average pils.
Palate: Light body, not watery at all. Moderate prickly carbonation, short+ length on the finish, and ends on pale hops.
Overall: Strange. Hazy like a hefe, bitterness like a light ale, body like a pilsener. It’s tasty enough, but it’s odd.
