It’s good to have it from time to time. Not overhopped, not too roasty. The bitter finish seemed a little too bitter to me, but i liked it too.

500ml bottle. Pint glass. Copper color & reddish tint to the light. Off-white froth shows good retention & leaves a nice lacing on sides. Intense caramel & crystal malt, hints of toffee & orange candy to the nose. Orange & citric juice upfront on a malty backbone at first sip. Medium to high body. Moderately high carbonation. Dense mouthfeel. Well balanced bitterness displays delicate citric –orange & tangerine- marmalade & subtle spicy notes so doesn´t overwhelm malty & biscuit flavors. Bitter/sweet finish. Fruity & dried aftertaste.

UPDATED: AUG 5, 2014 Medium, dense crčme Anglaise-coloured head over caramel-amber beer, disappearing. Caramel, toffee, even a tad butterscotch. More English, you die. Dusty old holly branches, even. Bitter, hoppy but also roasted, faint caramelly sweetness, but long bitter finish. Actually rather well-balanced. Quite slick, at least medium bodied, bit mushy; medium carbonation. Certainly not bad! The nose, however, very nearly succeeded in making it a caricature of itself. Dziękuję, Aga!

Warka 25-11-2014. Barwa bursztynowa, idealnie klarowne. Piana wysoka, szybko opada, ale pozostawia gruba warstwe i ladny lejsing. W aromacie bardzo intensywny karmel, dalej estry owocowe i angielski chmiel. W smaku polwytrawne, intensywnie slodowe, karmelowe, lekko opiekane i czekoladowe, lekkie owocowe estry. Goryczka niska, typowo angielska, ziolowo-ziemista z lekkimi owocami, w tym cytrusami, lekko lodygowa i sciagajaca. Wysycenie zbyt wysokie, przeszkadza.

Tap. Clear copper color. Tiny to almost no head. Caramel, bit metallic, faint grass in aroma. Malty and metallic hops dominate taste. Metallic caramel in aftertaste.

Clear, copper colour, with virtually no head, just like you’d expect from an english ale. Aromas of malt and quite strong caramel. Quite bitter, not leaving much of an aftertaste. Pretty good.

The aroma is not very strong, mostly caramel and hops. Pours clear, the colour of copper, with a medium head that stays for a while but not too long. The bitterness is probably a little below medium and nicely balanced by just the right amount of malty sweetness. Above medium body, creamy, average carbonation, and a pleasantly mildly bitter finish. Not a celebration beer perhaps, but very decent and very sessionable.
