Bread, some honey, roasted notes, caramel. Taste is rather sweet, low bitterness. Pretty good drinkability. Not an extraordinary beer. but definitely a good one.

UPDATED: JUN 18, 2011 New comment: In bottle this is similar to the draft version. I have had both many times now. In the bottle his beer loses essential parts of the body, although the carbonation is adequate. Down .1 from 3.6 to 3.5. Original on draft: To me this was a classic schwarz taste, milky, roasty, with moderate sweetness and only a touch of bitterness. Mild aroma of forest wet earth, bark, faint milk chocolate. Huge head, carbonation high and a bit out ofstyle but I liked it. Word is that the recipe will change...as this is thought to be too dunkleish, but I am not seeing it. Very dark, almost black. On tap at the opening of Piwoteka Narodowa.

Bottle from Schroppfy, thanks! Dark brown color. Roast, milk, caramel and licorice in the aroma. Malty sweetish, roasty flavor. Caramel. Thinnish, but flavorful.

Pours black, with big tan head, reduced quickly to small layer. Deep aroma of dark chocolate, roasted malts, toast, nuts. In taste medium sweet. Medium body, creamy texture, lively carbonation, light to medium bitter finish. Roasted aftertaste.

marulla (86) - Warsaw, POLAND - JUL 10, 2014
Very nice chocolatey aroma from the bottle, not so much in the glass, more roasted malts there, but still very pleasant. Slightly sour in taste, but very good.

Very decent as for the dark lager. Head is beige and tiny, but short-lasting. Nuts, chocolate and some roast in the foreground. Medium bitterness. I’d like it more if it resembled pils more than stout.

Butelka 0,5 l. Smak: Ciemny chleb, czekolada, śliwki, lekka kwaskowość w tle i paloność.
