COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In the year of our lord 1675, there lived St. Citrus, known throughout all the land for his fresh flavor and harmony. Lo a Brotherhood was formed by those who carried his mantle and out Patersbier, a tradtional Belgian style ale, brewed to be "offered to the brothers on festive occasions". mark’s the celebratory collaboration between Pipeworks and 18th St. Brewery. Brewed with fresh citrus zest, Brotherhood is a tribute to the beautiful, delicious harmony of the Brotherhood of Brewers!

22 oz. bottle. Pours a very pale light yellow with a small white head. Aroma of yeast, dry strong citrus and mild hay. Some light floral and citrus hops. Flavor is dry, with touches of fruity yeast and citrus. I get some juicyfruit gum, mild floral and herbal notes. Light body with zesty carbonation. Finishes light and dry, lots of citrus. Nice.

Thanks to tastybeer for sharing this to start off a low key tasting. It s not the most exciting beer. However as a light table beer that is easy going it is perfect. I will definitely continue to keep an eye on Pipeworks going forwards.

Aroma / Appearance - The fluffy white head and golden carbonated base reveal this to be a light session beer. The hints of brett in the lemon zest do the same.

Flavor / Palate - The solid kick of brett is carried by a malt wave. Warm applesauce is distracting for a second. The finish though more than makes up for its flaws. A (mostly) well rounded release I would love to see more breweries trying to do these light styles. With such low ABV and minimal ingredients it takes a skilled brewer indeed to pull it off.

Sample from bottle at the FoBAB Documentary party, poured by Drew Fox. I so wanted to stick with sessionable beers like this for the evening, but there were so many barleywines and impy stouts that followed. Pale lager color with a thin head. Sits really nicely on the tongue. Dry enough that I actually look for a little sweetness. Profile seems close to a Golden Ale style, but then the "single" is probably intended to be that way. A very pleasant way to start an evening.

Poured from a bottle. Yellow with minimal head. Orange I guess. Lemon aroma. Fruity lemon wheat taste but isn't overpowering. Pretty good

22oz bottle poured into an english pint. Pours a slightly cloudy light gold with a huge white head. Aroma of spicy yeast, lemongrass, citrus and sweetness. Taste os spicy. Peppery and lightly bitter. Citrus and lemongrass with loads of spicy yeast. Light bodied with a thin and slick texture. Super fizzy carbonation and a decently long finish. Overall, pretty good. . Batch 84.

On tap at Goldencrust and Tap. Pours a hazed yellow with a white head. Nose of grass, hay, herbs, and lemons. Earthy grassy herbal flavors. Light malt with some herbal bitterness. This might be better on a hot summer day but it’s not bad during this long Chicago winter.

Draft at Jerry’s. Pale yellow with modest white head / Stylish nose of malo, cream, lemon, pineapple, and a little funky earthiness? / Light body, crisp and dry, just a hint of sweetness, somewhat creamy, excellent balance with good bitter finish / Dry, elegant flavors of lemon, pineapple, passion fruit, straw, clove, and coriander / A great, summery (I wish) session beer.

Bottle from Zachary on BA - thanks! Pours a slightly hazy yellow with a bubbly froth of white foam. Aroms is clean wheat grain with citrus, slight tart, and a pleasant clove and spice aspect throught the finish. Taste has a nice bitterness up front with citrus, clove, some spices I cannot identify, and more bitterness into the finish. Clean, crisp mouthfeel. Very refreshing, flavorful beer.
