3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
22 oz. bottle shared by Tmoney99. Pours a very dark brown to black in color with a medium sized khaki head. The aroma and flavor have big roasted malt, coffee, and cocoa powder, more dark chocolate, hints of caramel with some char and earthy bitterness at the finish. More powdery than silky smooth, but very tasty.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bomber to snifter (thanks tmoney99). Looks good; a semi-opaque cola with thin off-white lacing. Smells solid; dark malt, chocolate, and roast. Tastes like it smells, only better, with a nice, creamy mouthfeel. Good stuff!

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle from Binny’s, label looks like it says batch 44, misprinted? Pours black with brown, thin brown head that sticks as a ring and oil slick. Nose is roast and burnt, dark chocolate and molasses. Some earth hop notes and a nuttiness. On tasting, shows a big bitterness witha big hit of caramel and chocolate. Moderately dry and a touch charred. A smoky hint comes through along with a bit of alcohol. Medium full on the palate. Not chewy but far from thin. Rich and dry finish, I really dig this one.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
22oz bottle purchased locally. glad i found one since my FwB pickup location no longer had any in stock... bottle opens with a small hiss and yields an opaque stouty black hued consistency while being topped with a thin wispy light beige head... aroma of roasted malt, cocoa that displays a mild degree of sweetness overall. touches of brown sugar as well to go along with a sense of alcohol. eventually adds some fluffy marshmallow with a tamed mild hop bitterness.. flavors are a continuation of the same with bittersweet cocoa and a fairly robust roasted malt component. finishes initially with a sharp ashiness that smoothens out after warming at which point the alcohol factor comes into play. bitterness grows on the backend and extends into the finish. was expecting a bit more in terms of a bigger body and the semi-lively carbonation lightens it up further more. the flavor profile overall, at least for me, is well conceived.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
22oz bottle from Binny’s Lakeview. Batch #41. Pours a black body with a finger-width, creamy, dark brown head that dissipates slowly and leaves a nice lacing. Aroma is pretty roasty up front with a bittersweet dark cocoa, a light caramel sweetness, and licorice. A moderate pine hopping and some coffee and cream as this warms a bit. Flavor is similar. Roasty with plenty of bittersweet cocoas and a light caramel sweetness. Some more licorice notes with a medium piney hopping throughout and a good amount of coffee towards the end. Finishes dry and moderately bitter, but sweet with a bit of warming alcohol note. Somewhat ashy from the roasts before leaving a lengthy aftertaste. Medium, smooth body and a somewhat lively, medium-light carbonation. Overall, a really solid imperial stout from these guys. Very bold with lots of roasts, coffee, and a decent hopping, but enough of a bittersweet cocoa, light caramel sweetness, and licorice backing to keep things well balanced. Great beer.

22 oz bottle. Dark brown with a frothy tan head. Nose is dark chocolate, hay, raisin and light smoke. Medium to full body with a sharp tang. Taste is fudge brownie, coffee, plum and char. Good stuff, alcohol well concealed.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
22 oz. pour with a thick tan head. Aroma of anise, dark chocolate, mild roast and coffee. Flavor is smoke, coffee, chocolate, a bit thin. Rich dark chocolate, mild bitterness, very little sweetness. Mouthfeel is a bit thin for an imperial stout, but the carbonation off sets that a bit. Nice roasty finish.

2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
Pours opaque mahogany, with no head. Taste is weird, almost soured dark malt, a bit of ash, and a layer of brown sugar sweetness. Taste is ashy, gross coffee grounds, sweet malt, and a long, dirty finish. Thin and very low carbonation.
