4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
22 oz. waxed bomber served in a Deschutes snifter. Batch #41
A: Pours an opaque black color with a two finger tan head forming on the pour. It has great retention throughout the whole glass. It recedes very slowly down to heft cap that leaves sticky and soapy lace down the glass.
S: Dark chocolate, some sweet booze and fruity yeast with a nice roasted malt presence as well. Another layer of coffee bean is present giving it another layer.
T: Sweet boozy notes with a touch of fruity yeast and some milk chocolate. Great roasted coffee bean with a light toffee malt presence.
M: Medium + bodied with a slick and oily mouthfeel. Medium to low carb really gives it that nice stout feel with a touch of dryness on the finish.
O: The booze sweet in nature with some slightly fruity yeast, but there is enough complimentary roasted flavors along with an unsweetened chocolate to balance it out. Iíd love to see this with a year or two on it and Iím glad Iíve got some for the cellar.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle shared by rosskyle acquired in Rockford, IL. Black with tan head. Aroma is coffee and roasted malts with chocolate coming along for the ride. Taste feels relatively straightforward for an imperial stout with a creamy mouthfeel that is appreciated. Chocolate bitterness plays well with sweet vanilla and even caramel. Pleasant finish with some bitter lingering notes and perhaps dark fruits. Pretty decent effort.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
22 oz bomber. The pour is a medium black with a thin ring of off white head and no lace to be found. I'm excited for this one. The aroma is typically imperial stout. There is a lot of roasty malt and good dark chocolate to go with a strong licorice. The dark fruits pop through on the back end, but it's definitely a good impy stout. The flavor is really solid. Lots of bitter roasted chocolate malt up front. There is a good dark fruit and licorice on the back end. Pretty basic, but the flavors are well defined. The mouth feel is thin. There is a lack of carbonation which doesn't help it cling to the mouth. The aftertaste vanishes pretty quickly as well, leaving a lightly bitter roast behind.
