In this epic battle, the Blood of the Unicorn has been shed by the sword of the deadly assassin of the east. One sip of this.aggressively hopped red ale clearly reveals what drives these, the greatest of, hop heads of lore. Is this the end of the mythical horned horse? Or will he rise like the phoenix to fight another day?

Bomber thanks to the nostalgic AndyReynolds into the DLD 2013 memento snifter - nose is rye and something akin to the paint thinner, which I’m told is fresh hops. Bitter. Strong. Not doing it for me but I can respect it. Batch 333/334. Fairly dry.

Bottle thanks to clear orange amber with small white head. The aroma is strong pine hop and resin. Medium mouthfeel with strong bitter hop and grapefruit. Good.

Deep red pour, slightly cloudy. Single finger head. Aroma is full of citrus, mostly grapefruit. Mouth is creamy, but not overly thick and viscous. Taste is full of grapefruit, citrus and caramel. Alcohol is super well hidden, as is the case with most beers in this style. Bitter finish. Lots of lace.

Dark amber pour. Ample creamy head. Different aroma. Odd but not unpleasant just can’t place the scent. Hoppy but not bitter with a slight bite in the aftertaste. Overall good especially since I generally don’t go for hopped up brews.

Bottle shared at Capitol Beer & Tap Room. Pours reddish brown with a decent beige head and a red malt aroma. There is a full-bodied smoked malt flavor with a bitter finish.

Clear reddish amber pour with a thin off white soapy head and light sticky lacing .... aroma of chewy caramel malts, some citrusy and piney hops, berrys and some resiny/rindy citrusy hops .... taste of sweet and chewy caramel malts, resiny hops, citrus rinds and piney hops ...... has a light dry hop to it and a slight floral hop bite .... has a light roasted malt to it and has some barleywine qualities to it .... abv hidden well

bottle. nose full of toffee and caramel with moderate citrus hop character. Dark red in color with medium white head that dissipates to leave just a fine film layer of bubbles on top. Taste is initially sweet malt followed by a hop punch that is very grassy and turns quickly bitter. Upon second sip the hops seem less aggressive but some alcohol is noted in the finish with a light warming sensation in the chest. overall, a strong malty ale with aggressive hops. My only complaint is with the style letting the malt overpower the hop flavor, but the beer is fault free and well done by the brewer.

Brought a bottle to a macro party. Didn’t share. Pours a clear read with sizable white head. Scent is bready with a touch of fruit. Taste is middling and lacking in distinction. Medium-Light Body and bubbly. Enjoyable beer. Bottle - Received in Trade

Poured out of the bottle into a glass. Firm hoppy aroma with malty roast mixed in as well. Great looking beer in the glass! Solid 2 finger head that quickly dissipates. Taste was solid, nothing crazy awesome but very solid. Overall very good beer, would have again, wouldn’t order again though.

Crushed bomber with Honkeybra. Deep red pour with a fluffy white head. Dank, hoppy aroma with an annoying amount of diacetyl. Flavor is hoppy but blanketed by diacetyl and some oxidation. Decent but gotta try it again.
