COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Blue Lady is a very sour girl, sure to bring a pucker to your lips. She starts with a traditional sour mash to bring out her tart side. After fermentation we introduce her to one hundred and fifty pounds of fresh blueberries from our friends at Seedling Farm. The result is a beautifully colored sour ale with a layer of blueberry flavor.

Bottle pour from Bacterial...thanks Jeff! (I think....maybe? Sorta? Batch 31, so I don’t know what I expected...) Pour is a clear light purple, with a light blue head that fades quickly to no lacing. This is a straight up cheese bomb. Parm, asiago, every aged italian cheese I have ever had just blended up and shoved in a glass. Just HUGE funky lacto cheese/yogurt/fermented milk. Front palate is much the same, then it opens up to some much nicer lactic tartness with a nice berry finish. The end of this beer lets me know what they were trying to go for here...but dear god! The funky, sweaty, raunchy aged cheese in the aroma and early taste just destroy this beer for me. Honestly, I can see why they recalled this, and I hope that it has aged to what it is now, rather than it being released in this state.

Bottle of ’the good batch’ at James’s 4k/5k/10k tasting. Pours a soft purple hued garnet with a thin white head. Cheesy blueberries, musk and a bit of funk. Funky, sweet blueberries, soft musk. Cheesy, chewy blueberry skins, gentle tartness. Tasty.

UPDATED: MAY 3, 2013 (750ml bottle) clear, bright red beer. White bubbles. Nose of butter, blueberry, pancakes, bread and sweetness. Taste of tart blueberry, lightly Tart, artificial butter, weird, infected. Odd beer.

Pours a very thin body with a head that recedes to nothing instantly. Bretty aromas with a mouthfeel that follws in slight barnyard sourness. Very crisp, dry. Sessionable. A light funky brunch with blueberry pancakes and blueberry Berliner Weisse

WOW! Smells like the trash can at a Blue Cheese Eating Competition. Straight up stinky cheese, vomit, sour milk, poop, and gym socks. First time a beer has ever made me gag from a smell. Taste had a tinge of berry and lemon that were immediately CRUSHED by gag inducing vomity cheese. This beer is an atrocity on epic proportions. Just now seeing that they actually recalled it which is a very good thing. How anyone that has had batch 31 can rate it higher then macro lagers is completely insane. My kitchen drain still stinks this morning have DP’ing this thing and then pouring liquid plumber down it.

Batch 51 bottle. Pour is quite striking - deep reddish purple with a medium pink head. Like a cross between red wine and rose wine, except carbonated. Aroma and flavor are subtle with light sour notes, faint hints of berry, and faint sweetness. Quite effervescent. This is very drinkable and very good looking. Flavors are all very subtle.

Bottle shared by a friend. Pours a pinkish-amber color with a medium fizzy pinkish-white head that evaporates steadily. Spotty lacing. Aroma of berries, wheat and funk. Light-bodied with a mildly tart fruit character and notes of wheat and yeast. The finish is fruity with a berry aftertaste. Decent overall.

750ml bottle via trade batch 31. Clearish ruby amber with a fizzy light purple head. Aroma of blue cheese, sulfur, gym socks and light blueberry. Flavor is acidic berry, sharp cheese and lactic acid. Light body with active carbonation. Ew, such an odd aroma, really gross, taste isn’t as bad but you can’t help but smell it on the way up to take a sip. Drainpour.

Bottle - Batch 51. Buttered popcorn aroma. Slightly hazy rose with a large pink tinged head. Tart watery blueberry and diacetyl flavor. Light watery body.
